As I like cycling, genetic algorithms and interactive visualisations, I've made a neuroevolution sim. Riders are controlled by small random neural networks which evolve race by race and we see nice tactics emerge. Runs in the browser, best on a computer:

Statement from Edward Park, President of Commissaire Panel (UCI) for Bajaj Pune Grand Tour. There was a crash in the middle of the peloton. This is quite common in road cycling races with large peloton and changing race dynamics, high-stake, high-speed environment. As a protocol, the race was neutralized for 23 minutes. Riders involved in the incident were immediately attended to with first aid by the medical staff in the convoy, and were allowed to change the bikes. No serious injuries and no one required hospitalization. The situation was handled very professionally by the race officials. The fact that maximum number of riders were able to get back on road and complete the race speaks volumes of the speed at which the situation was managed.

At the start of the race, Munoz and Max tangled, with the latter losing his rear wing and spinning out of race-winning contention. Later in the race, Max took revenge on Munoz by taking him out"

With respect to the argument over whether Darlington was good or overhyped, I thought Mark Martin put it best before(!) the race yesterday. "My excitement for today is to see how hard it is and to witness greatness. My fear is, sometimes when you have that, it might not be as entertaining. "And I just hope that everyone embraces the race today as, hey, not every race is Atlanta, not every race is Talladega. And this is what it is. It may be an incredible finish to this race, or it may not be. We may see greatness separated by not so much greatness, I don't know. "I wouldn't want every race to be anything. I think we need a variety. And I'm excited about this particular race with less downforce."

In fact we are some of the Whitest of all the White people on earth. This might be uncomfortable to hear, but it is reality and you're hindering yourself and your kids by denying it. You see it on the streets, you see it in the shops and the schools, Irish people are on the way to becoming a minority in our own country. Africans come to Ireland, stand in our streets, pick up a microphone and blame us for the slave trade. What happens if we become a minority and they control the government, the gardaí and everything else? Reality doesn't matter to them, our history doesn't matter. You might not see race, but race sees you.

I’m proud of the progress this Rayce Rudeen Foundation team is making right now. We didn’t qualify as well as we wanted at the #Vegas4WideNats, but, with the Four-Wide, I don’t feel it is that important for eliminations. We were runner-up in the first quad (four cars) on a tie (time) and then, we outright won the next round and that makes us feel like we are gaining on it. I told the team that we are way ahead of where we were last week at Phoenix. And that was way ahead of the runs at Gainesville and Pomona. I feel like the team is doing a great job improving with each race, and we are in the window that we can make some small adjustments and pick speed. I think the crew is a little dejected with the final, but from the boss’ perspective, I can see us gaining on it. And we made great progress in just a week. I like seeing them pout a bit right now because of losing, but I’ll get them smiling again and ready for Charlotte. We will focus on the positive moving forward. 🎥 Las Vegas Motor Speedway
