As part of the Renewed Hope Cutting Resurgence Initiative of our indefatigable President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we are proud to share a transformational development that will soon take place in our dear State. In the next 60 days, we will be privileged to host Mr. President here in Ogun State for the groundbreaking ceremony of what will become the largest cotton processing plant in the world, to be sited in Ogun State. This landmark project, a Public-Private Partnership, is designed to process 100 tons of cotton per hour, translating to over 1,000 tons per workday. From raw cotton to finished garments, this facility is projected to produce over 4 million garments daily. This $2.5 billion investment will directly employ 250,000 Nigerians and create countless indirect jobs across the cotton farming value chain through off-take agreements already signed with farmers in Ogun State and across the country. The Ewekoro power plant is the first phase of a planned 100 megawatts generation project in Ogun State, known as the Light Up Ogun Project. OGUN STATE LIGHT-UP PROJECT: PHASE ONE UNDERWAY Earlier today, we inspected the ongoing construction of the Light-Up Ogun State project in Ewekoro, where turbines are being installed for power generation. This marks the first phase of our plan to generate 100 megawatts, with 30 megawatts set to provide uninterrupted electricity to Abeokuta. Following the Federal Government’s removal of power generation, distribution, and transmission from the exclusive legislative list, Ogun State has not only passed the necessary laws but has also begun implementing this critical initiative.

OGUN STATE LIGHT-UP PROJECT: PHASE ONE UNDERWAY Earlier today, we inspected the ongoing construction of the Light-Up Ogun State project in Ewekoro, where turbines are being installed for power generation. This marks the first phase of our plan to generate 100 megawatts, with 30 megawatts set to provide uninterrupted electricity to Abeokuta. Following the Federal Government’s removal of power generation, distribution, and transmission from the exclusive legislative list, Ogun State has not only passed the necessary laws but has also begun implementing this critical initiative.

A Glorious Night in Abeokuta as Super Falcons Shine On Tuesday evening, I had the distinct honour of watching, live from the stands of the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, as the Super Falcons of Nigeria delivered a commanding 2-0 victory over the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a thrilling international friendly. It was a truly proud moment for all of us in Ogun State. The energy in the stadium was electric, the support from our people was overwhelming, and our Super Falcons gave us every reason to celebrate with their superb display of skill, teamwork, and resilience. This historic match marks the first major international fixture hosted at the newly remodeled MKO Abiola Sports Arena — a project our administration proudly undertook to promote sports, youth engagement, and tourism in Ogun State. We continued with the reconstruction of the Stadium Junction to Luba Road in Ijebu-Ode as part of our administration’s commitment to modernizing road infrastructure across Ogun State. On-site, ongoing activities include the casting of drainage base, formwork for drainage walls, and the laying of asphalt (wearing course). These works are critical steps in ensuring the durability and efficiency of this strategic road, which serves as a major link within Ijebu-Ode and supports both economic and social activities in the area.
