Public charging is still a joke. I’m off the Florida Turnpike where millions of cars pass through, and every single EV Connect charger here is broken. Zero options for CCS1 cars for more than 40 miles. Ended up lending my spare NACS adapter to a seemingly stranded Ioniq 5 driver. He seemed surprised adapters like that even existed. Unless you’re charging on Tesla, Rivian, or Ionna or Alpitronic hardware, a lot of public charging infrastructure is impossible to fully trust.

Having driven down to Maphisa yesterday to celebrate the 46th anniversary of Zimbabwe’s Independence I remain deeply concerned about the state of the road to Maphisa. Although construction work has been done on virtually the whole length of the road it is nowhere near finished. In fact for much of the length of the road all that has been done is the grading of either side of what used to be narrow tar. The narrow bridges remain the same and the old narrow tar is in very bad condition. In fact most the road was extremely dangerous. I recognize that contractors are still on site and had parked their construction vehicles to facilitate the high volume of traffic yesterday, so remain hopeful that they will remain on the road until it has been completed all the way from Bulawayo to Maphisa. My fear is that now that Independence Day is over that the contractors will move elsewhere leaving most of the road in a worse state than it was before the work started. I have already had one report of construction vehicles being moved to Masvingo and hope that isn’t going to be a trend. I call on Government to confirm that construction will continue along the entire length of the road and to give an indication when it expects the road to be finished.

I have seen this video in many WhatsApp groups, and many of you sent it to me too. The solution to this problem is for Mnangagwa’s Government to license Starlink and open up the market. But will that happen? Old technology is expensive to run, new technology makes things cheaper. Without Starlink the price of data will remain ridiculously high because of less competition and of course the economy is in a free fall too.

Slate announced a base price of $24,950 for its "Blank Slate" pickup, but that doesn't include an as-yet-unannounced destination charge. That price does include a larger battery than previously announced, now measuring 63 kWh, providing 205 miles of range and the ability to charge through a NACS port. Slate claims to have 180,000 reservations so far and will start delivering in the fourth quarter of this year.

This is a first for me…a road trip for my show because I haven’t been able to get hurricane victims off my mind…especially since I now call Florida home. It’s been 2 months since Hurricanes Helene & Milton ravaged the west coast of The Sunshine State, and thousands still remain displaced. So last week, I drove up to Pinellas County to fully understand the depths of the damage, and in turn, try to share it so as many people as possible are aware of those who are still suffering. Cyprus has now begun its presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will continue through the first half of this year. We are working to make as much progress as possible during this period on opening negotiating clusters and on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. We discussed this today with the President of Cyprus NikosChristodoulides, and I am counting on productive cooperation. The President and I talked about strengthening sanctions against Russia, which must remain in place as long as Russia’s aggression and occupation continue. We also touched on reinforcement of our air defense, the production and supply of drones, and Cyprus’s participation in the PURL initiative and SAFE instrument. We hope that support for Ukraine will remain strong. Thank you to Cyprus and to the President for the support.

FSD slams on the brakes for a cat in the road that doesn’t even exist. This is FSD 12.6.4 on HW3, which is a lot more sensitive to shadows & objects in the road with the 2026.8.6 update. There are many reports of brake stabbing. It brings me back to the days when I was testing with v10.3 of FSD back in 2021. It’s interesting that it’s the same FSD version as before, and not something like 12.6.4.1, but I guess Tesla can change the weights without changing the version. And they’ve likely been doing this for a while with 12.6.4. 😒
