One time before we enclosed our back porch they were on there and I was sitting in a chair and one of them just flew right towards my face and just shook his little wings right in front of me

Lol we have a lot of hummingbird feeders up here in this neighborhood and we are in the woods. Maybe they don’t wanna go anywhere else.

A few years back I was living on a remote island of the BC coast. While working in my gardens in March, I kept hearing the sound of "doo dee do dee doo!" All that was missing was "charge!!!" at the end. It was the humming birds. They'd go up about 20-30 feet in the air, hover than dive bomb me. I guess I was close to their nests. I've never met anyone else who has heard this. No I wasn't on 'shrooms. :)

They are very territorial. I bet you were close to a nest and you didn’t even know it.
