This misinformation is really damaging to women’s health, so on my podcast this week I invited Dr Avrum Bluming to join me. Avrum is a leading US oncologist and has spent 25 years studying the benefits and risks of HRT in breast cancer survivors. As you’ll hear in the episode, Avrum tells me about more recent studies that have shown that oestrogen alone decreases the risk of breast cancer development by 23% and the risk of death from breast cancer by 40%. Yet many people still do not realise this. Too many women are dying quietly from a disease we can prevent. For many, access to healthcare is still out of reach, screenings are delayed, warning signs are missed, and cervical cancer continues to take mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends far too soon. We couldn’t solve it all, but we chose to play our part. We set out to host a cervical cancer screening in Abuja for 1,000 women, and by the end, we had screened over 1000. There’s much more needs to be done. There are still countless people with limited access to care, still more lives that can be protected. We will continue to do all we can to save as many lives as possible, that is THE MISSION.

Me after walking my first runway in 20 years since my modeling days: I’m going to be super chill. Also me: What an honor walking in THE BLUE JACKET FASHION SHOW for Tommy Bahama as New York City gears up for fashion week. This is the tenth year of a very important event that raises money and awareness for prostate cancer. 1 in 8 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and it’s the second leading cause of cancer-related death in men. The statistics certainly shocked me, and this event was a great reminder that we all need to be screened to stay on top of our health. If there’s anything to bring my modeling days out of retirement, it’s this. Although I’ll admit, it was scary as hell walking a runway after 20 years, but I would say I had just a little bit of fun. 🕺 This event was a good reminder to keep saying yes to things that scare me. Especially for a cause like this. 🩵 #fashionweek #prostatecancer

I completed a 5km walk today alongside fellow Nigerian men in the UK, raising awareness for prostate cancer in the Black community as part of the March for Men Prostate Cancer UK It was truly inspiring to see so many Black men come out from all over the UK, standing together and taking their health seriously. This is exactly the kind of energy and unity our community needs. Prostate cancer is more common in Black men, especially over the age of 40, yet it’s still not talked about enough. Conversations like this can save lives, and we must continue to educate, support, and encourage one another. I’m also proud to share that over £500,000 was raised an incredible achievement that will go a long way in supporting the fight against prostate cancer. Today was more than just a walk, it was a powerful reminder that our health matters, and together, we can make a difference. #Marchformen
