Because of that, it wasn’t the massive leap that Model 3 had been, but it still ended up getting a huge variety of games from not only Sega, but many other companies as well. Popular titles like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 were also NAOMI-based games. FINALLY seeing my recent hard work on my accelerated linear algebra and math library, SH4ZAM, for the Sega Dreamcast pay off for our community infrastructure and libraries, holy shit. What you are seeing is two direct hardware captures of our Mario Kart 64 port running on actual DC hardware, playing the most taxing stage in 2-player coop mode. The top frame was the release build, which uses the standard GLdc OpenGL 1.2 driver implementation for all of its rendering. The bottom frame is a new build I just made using an experimental branch of GLdc which I have accelerated using SH4ZAM... Most of what I've done so far has been swapping to my optimized memcpy() and store-queue copying routines and backing the GL stack with my vectorized SH4 ASM implementations of the GL transform routines... I've introduced a few regressions into some of the GLdc test/example programs, but for the most part, everything is actually working, and I'm finally seeing some real-world gainz from accelerating our community infrastructure instead of just single applications!

I have something very special to share today! This is a hardware capture of maximqad's port of the Xash3D engine--which is compatible with the Half-Life engine--running on the Sega Dreamcast... ONLINE! Keep in mind this is EXTREMELY early in the days of the port, with no DC-specific graphics optimizations or hardware accelerated math routines yet, so performance still has a lot of room to drastically improve. Audio was literally just barely moved to the SPU for the first time just the other day too, so this is still all very incredibly new... ...but here it is! The engine that wouldn't even run without being on an emulator that also needed to emulate the extended 32MB RAM modification... now running on a stock Sega Dreamcast with online multiplayer connectivity and mouse and keyboard support! Fantastic work from maximqad! I really believe as this engine matures, it will be an incredibly powerful tool for Dreamcast developers and will potentially bring a lot of new software to the platform in the form of Half-Life engine mods!

Got something totally different, but exceptionally badass today to share! Here is a bunch of direct hardware captures of the (F)ixed (F)unction and (F)ast (F)ourier (T)ransform (T)esting audio visualization demos, running on my Sega Dreamcast! This incredible piece of science, engineering, art, and music started off as a crazy idea to port a bunch of GPU-based, Shadertoy audiovisual demos to the Sega Dreamcast, to play with combined digital signal processing and rendering on legacy fixed-function hardware. As you can see from the video, the FFFFTT repo includes a wide array of different demos, each providing different kinds of visualizations, each featuring different types of signal transformations and analyses, with many of them also being interactive, all done in real-time! Not only that, but you ALSO can freaking pause the playback and analyze the signals in real-time... crazy! The final resulting FFFFTT demos are an epic full-stack conglomeration of Ray's raylib, providing the backing infrastructure and graphics framework, which sits atop our GLdc driver for rendering, using David Reid's miniaudio library for sound playback, with its FFT and vector algebra accelerated for the SH4 CPU using my SH4ZAM math library... all ontop of KallistiOS, running on the Sega Dreamcast! Congratulations to meisei4 for the fantastic accomplishments, and a heart-felt thanks from me for bringing everything together to make this happen! Some interesting Sega Dreamcast science I've been doing on the side recently... Here's a direct hardware capture of a tech demo of Bruce's aptly-named "Dreamcast Mesh Shit," featuring assets from... Uhhh... I don't even know where he jacked these from... 😂 ANYWAY, the main thing I've been working on is optimizing the skinning for the animations using my SH4ZAM fast math and linear algebra library, which can easily become one of the primary bottlenecks when running the late 6th generation games on the Dreamcast. My work has been mostly to allow the vast majority of the skinning math to occur in the SH4's XMTRX back-bank of floating-point registers, rather than having to round-trip to and from memory for every operation... Just shaved off a few hundred microseconds per mesh this way, with a lot more room to go. Once I have this stuff SOLID, I plan to bring it back to our DC port of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, where skinning was one of the major contributors to FPS dips.

I’m really proud of a lot of the shots I have been able to achieve lately with the adherence to prompts getting so good it’s a level of creative control I e been dying for and really starting to make me actual dreams come true for just myself working with these tools! Prompting is such a unique and creative aspect of what we all do in AI. Knowing when to prompt long form and when not to, what keyword tokens and how they are applied in sequence, structure and formatting, they all matter. Especially with the models not needing extensive prompts, that’s actually where you can shine with how you use it because sometimes simpler is better but in other instances extensive motion/movement detail can be the difference maker for a cool shot or a spectacular one. I’ve been focusing a lot on shot development prompts and structure testing and I’ve managed to find a sweet spot. I’m Gonna put together a little rundown on how I did some of mine next week for this film. 🙌😎🔥💯🎥

I’ve just been feeling really grateful lately. Life is not where I want it to be yet. I’m still trying to figure things out. I’m still working, still trying, still hoping things get better. But when I stop and really think about everything I’ve been through, I’m proud of myself. There were so many times I didn’t know how I was going to get through something, but somehow, I did. I’m still here. I’m still dreaming. I’m still building my life. And honestly, that means a lot to me. I’m so grateful for every person who has supported me, checked on me, helped me, donated, shared my story, or simply reminded me that I’m not alone. I never expected some of the love I’ve received, and I’ll always be grateful for it. I don’t have everything figured out. I don’t have everything I want yet. But I believe things will get better. I believe in myself. And I know that one day, I’m going to look back at this version of me and say, “Girl, we really went through it.” 😂 Then I’ll look at my life and say, “But look at you now.” I’m proud of me. I’m grateful to still be here. And I truly believe I’ve got this. 🤍

Before I do my final song, there are so many people I need to thank who have put this show together. […] Everybody on this team [is a very good friend]. I think that speaks for itself – surrounding yourself with really great people who not only do the job well, but everybody on this tour has gone above and beyond to make this show work tonight. I have a lot of ambition. I hope you’ve seen that we’ve put as much as we possibly could into the show. It isn’t just about my creative brain and what I want to bring to the stage – everybody on my team has really done more than their job to make this happen, and that really means the world to me… [Tears up] I know it’s a bit of a lengthy speech tonight, but it’s because it’s the last night and it’s really important to say these things. I’m so grateful to my team. They’ve gone above and beyond to make this show what it is. I hope you know how much I love and appreciate you all, and how grateful I am. Last but not least, I have to thank you – my fans... “Dealing with the lonely side of life on Tour was a thing for me at the beginning, because you don’t know anybody and you spend a lot of time on your own in hotel rooms. Just getting used to that, you definitely change as a person. To be a golf professional, you have to be a certain type of person anyway, but life on Tour certainly moulds you into a certain type of person as you evolve and as you age, so I think I have changed a lot, but hopefully for the better. I have certainly become a lot more sympathetic to the struggles that older guys encounter with the game, because it’s just such a challenging sport. "It doesn’t feel particularly reflective, to be honest. You could win and it would soon be forgotten, so the fact that it’s just my 300th event, it’s less symbolic than a win. I’m pretty focused at the moment. I’ve been doing some good things with my swing and I got back with an old caddie so there have been a couple of changes, but it’s been a pretty decent start to the year for me, so I am pretty set on trying to continue good form, kick on, and use this as a catalyst for something better." “Dealing with the lonely side of life on Tour was a thing for me at the beginning, because you don’t know anybody and you spend a lot of time on your own in hotel rooms. Just getting used to that, you definitely change as a person. To be a golf professional, you have to be a certain type of person anyway, but life on Tour certainly moulds you into a certain type of person as you evolve and as you age, so I think I have changed a lot, but hopefully for the better. I have certainly become a lot more sympathetic to the struggles that older guys encounter with the game, because it’s just such a challenging sport. "It doesn’t feel particularly reflective, to be honest. You could win and it would soon be forgotten, so the fact that it’s just my 300th event, it’s less symbolic than a win. I’m pretty focused at the moment. I’ve been doing some good things with my swing and I got back with an old caddie so there have been a couple of changes, but it’s been a pretty decent start to the year for me, so I am pretty set on trying to continue good form, kick on, and use this as a catalyst for something better." I've been mostly working on the internal systems lately for my #Dreamcast engine. The PC port gave me the debugging tools I needed to improve complex systems like the memory manager. • Audio is now working on the Dreamcast version • The renderer runs 20% faster on the Dreamcast • Heap allocation is 300% faster on average and 200% faster on worst case. While this had minimal impact on performance for the #Gamecube and PC versions, it was a significant bottleneck on the Dreamcast. • Increased real-time heap defragmentation throughput by using a new multi-regional heap structure, which also sets the foundation for DRAM bank-aware memory allocation. There's still plenty of room for more optimizations in Meese Engine. In fact, some optimizations found in Minecraft have yet to be implemented in this engine! #retrogamedev #indiegamedev

SURPRIIIIIIISE!!! The beta release of our Grand Theft Auto Vice City port to the Sega Dreamcast is finally here! Here's an actual hardware capture of raising some hell in the beautiful streets of Miami taken straight from my DC to celebrate! We've now added graphics settings for 2xFSAA to give it a less jagged, more smooth look and have added a video mode for rendering to a 24bpp framebuffer, which adds extra depth and vividness to the colors! While we still have plenty of work to do regarding features, assets, and performance, I am extremely proud of our team after what we've accomplished within just a few short months with this port that, for the last two decades, was considered literally impossible for the console to handle. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to work beside you crazy and talented bastards! I also want to thank the Sega Dreamcast and Grand Theft Auto communities for rallying around this cause and coming together to help us test and debug this release along with the previous GTA3 release over the last several months. Your support and diligent work has been vital for ensuring that the games have been fully playable on the DC, and your constant support and feedback has been an inspiration to the team. We couldn't have done it without you! 🦊 “tell us if you’re going through a hard time” okay 🦊 i’ll be honest, it’s been tough these days 🦊 i’ve been going through a very hard time since ‘no labels: part 01’ ended and from the award show season till now…it’s been hard throughout and i also experienced burn out in the middle 🦊 i have a lot on my mind these days but i can’t seem to organize my thoughts 🦊 so i’ve been talking to a lot of people and having conversations with people, trying to organize my thoughts 🦊 i’ve been facing sides of myself that i had been avoiding and that i hadn’t been looking at 🦊 i think i’m getting healthy and recovering in my own cool way 🦊 i know that this pain right now is really meaningful and in a way, it’s a positive kind of pain so i think it’s good 🦊 if i can, i’d like to tell you in detail someday but that’s what’s been on my mind 🦊 but don’t worry, i’ll tell you when i’m going through a hard time 🦊 i’ve been trying to do that, i think i was really suppressing myself so i’ve been trying to open myself up and let go…that’s the way i’ve been trying to live these days
