Unfortunately SDUT is a worthless rag nowadays and can’t do any credible journalism.

Democrats destroyed a vibrant downtown and Little Italy. I remember when it was amazing. No junkies, very little crime, you could walk around at 4am without not worrying.

Back in the mid to late 80’s I banked at First Interstate on 4th & B… used to be so vibrant and alive around there Had to head up Broadway towards what is now Petco, to see all the derelicts and the homeless - and even back then there was not as many of them as you might think… Broadway was still sketchy right up until Horton Plaza went in and then it got a little bit better for a time Never thought twice about taking my kids to Horton Plaza on a Friday or Saturday night to cruise around and check out the shops It’s really sad what has happened to downtown San Diego And now with this leadership, it just gets worse Thank you for your efforts… I have hopes of retiring there - but staying anywhere here in California is nearing a lost cause

I used to ride the bus from Kensington to Downtown to watch movies at Horton or do Christmas shopping. Never ever saw an iota of what is happening everywhere in our entire city.

Amazing how in ten years they wrecked the entire downtown.

Worked there for 3 years The City used the old city manager as an escape goat. The political side knew what they were doing and all were in on the scam

Was this a bailout for Sempra Energy or the developers who bought it. But basically San Diego was acting as a backstop to somebody using tax payer money. How much would asbestos abatement cost? Has to be in the 10's of millions.

It was a simple snatch and grab… honestly very pedestrian real estate fraud for @FBIDirectorKash and staff. Law and order is an illusion unfortunately and not a reality. Especially in San Diego which is more corrupt than Chicago but it has better weather so no one notices. 💁🏻‍♂️
