Ashwagandha is basically the stress-hacker’s supplement: 🚫 Lowers cortisol (bye-bye stress hormone) 💪 Indirectly frees up more testosterone 😌 Boosts resilience + better sleep = compounding health gains It’s wild how much of performance, mood, and even longevity comes down to managing stress load. Curious, have you ever felt a noticeable difference with adaptogens, or do you think it’s more placebo than power?

This is comical. If you have low T or exhibit low T symptoms, get blood work, skip the bullshit and get on US made pharma grade bioidentical Test. The cost is less, your body knows exactly what to do with it and you don't have to hope or guess whether it's working or not. And let's not pretend "natural" supplements like Tongkat Ali, Ashwagandha and Fadogia Agrestis don't have potential side effects. And if you haven't had kids yet and fear infertility, use a company like Legacy to freeze your sperm before you start therapy.

For anyone wondering what is a brand that meets the requirement (which would be super helpful if mentioned) pure encapsulations (according to Grok) meets the requirements mentioned in this post … I know they are owned by nestle which is such a bummer but this is what we got GROK: Yes, Pure Encapsulations meets the requirements mentioned in the post for ashwagandha supplementation. The post specifies that ashwagandha should be standardized for withanolides, such as KSM-66 at 5% or Sensoril at 10%, and verified through trusted third-party testing. Pure Encapsulations offers ashwagandha supplements that contain 500 mg of KSM-66 ashwagandha extract, which is standardized to contain over 5% total withanolides. This aligns with the recommendation for a high concentration of withanolides. Additionally, Pure Encapsulations is known for its commitment to quality and undergoes third-party testing to ensure the purity and potency of its products, meeting the verification requirement. Therefore, Pure Encapsulations fulfills the criteria outlined in the post for effective ashwagandha supplementation.

Did you know that certain types of stress can actually be positive for young children’s healthy development? On first blush this may sound counterintuitive. But it’s true. Here’s why: No one is immune from stress in life - and while the prolonged and chronic activation of the body’s stress response systems (as a result of things like domestic violence, drug abuse, and/or a caregiver’s mental illness) can have developmentally toxic effects on children, periodic exposure to “positive stress” helps them learn to navigate the world around us. What is positive stress? In a nutshell, positive stress is short-term and well-supported exposure to things that may be uncomfortable - or even a little bit frightening. Things like: Having to share your toys. Visiting the doctor’s office for an immunization. The first day in a new classroom. Or, in this case, going through the car wash. Positive stress helps to nurture resilience and bravery - which this little guy is showing in abundance. Watch how hard he works to overcome his apprehension about the car wash - powering through in a (semi-successful) effort to convince himself that the experience is actually fantastic. (Fake it ‘til you make it, little guy!) He’s under some stress, but that’s okay. It’s brief, he’s completely safe, and he is well supported by his parents - allowing him to begin developing essential life skills. To be clear, the message here is NOT to seek out opportunities to create anxiety. Instead, it is that we are all periodically exposed to brief periods of discomfort and that these aren’t necessarily to be avoided at all costs, even during the early years. Testosterone is far more than just a muscle-building hormone. It’s a cornerstone of health influencing mood, cognition, bone density, libido, and even longevity. In this episode, Derek (More Plates More Dates), host of the popular YouTube channel ‘More Plates More Dates' and co-founder of Marek Health, joins me to unpack testosterone’s true role in health, from bone density and insulin sensitivity to brain function and longevity. We cover how lifestyle factors, diet, and micronutrients like vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium shape testosterone levels, and which testosterone-boosting supplements actually work versus those that are just hype. We dive deep into testosterone replacement therapy—when it’s warranted, what benefits to expect, the risks (like polycythemia and fertility suppression), and how delivery methods such as injections, creams, and orals formulations differ. We also explore testosterone therapy for women, cardiovascular disease and prostate cancer risk, and how DHT drives hair loss, plus the safety and efficacy of treatments like finasteride, minoxidil, microneedling, and ketoconazole shampoo. If you want to understand testosterone beyond the headlines, including its functions, its tradeoffs, and the practical ways to optimize it, this conversation is a must-listen. Links in the next post. Rebounding, or jumping on a mini-trampoline, offers a variety of health benefits for the body that are both surprising and impressive. Here’s a detailed look at some of the key advantages: 1. Improved Cardiovascular Health ❤️ Rebounding is an excellent way to get your heart pumping and improve cardiovascular health. The rhythmic motion increases heart rate, promoting better circulation and strengthening the heart muscle over time. 2. Lymphatic System Boost 🌿 Unlike many other forms of exercise, rebounding is particularly effective at stimulating the lymphatic system. The up-and-down motion helps to flush out toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials from the body, which can enhance your immune system and overall health. 3. Enhanced Balance and Coordination ⚖️ The unstable surface of the trampoline forces your body to engage multiple muscles to maintain balance, which over time improves your coordination and stability. This can be especially beneficial for older adults looking to maintain their independence and reduce the risk of falls. 4. Low-Impact Exercise 🌟 Despite its effectiveness, rebounding is gentle on the joints. The trampoline absorbs much of the impact, making it a great option for those with joint pain or those recovering from injuries, while still providing a high-intensity workout. 5. Muscle Toning and Strengthening 💪 Rebounding works out various muscle groups, particularly in the core, legs, and lower back. Regular sessions can lead to improved muscle tone, increased strength, and better posture. 6. Improved Bone Density 🦴 The gentle impact on bones from rebounding can stimulate bone growth and increase bone density, which is crucial for preventing osteoporosis and maintaining bone health as we age. 7. Stress Relief and Mental Health 😌 The rhythmic motion of bouncing has been shown to have calming effects, reducing stress and anxiety. Additionally, the physical activity releases endorphins, the body's natural mood lifters, which can help to combat depression and improve overall mental well-being. 8. Better Digestion and Gut Health 🍎 Rebounding can also positively impact digestion by stimulating the digestive tract, promoting better nutrient absorption, and reducing issues like constipation. The gentle motion helps to massage the intestines, aiding in regular bowel movements. 9. Increased Energy Levels ⚡️ Regular rebounding can lead to higher energy levels. The exercise helps to improve circulation and oxygen flow throughout the body, which can leave you feeling more energized and less fatigued throughout the day. 10. Weight Loss and Fat Burning 🔥 Rebounding is an effective calorie-burning exercise. It increases metabolism and helps to burn fat, making it a great option for those looking to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Incorporating just a few minutes of rebounding into your daily routine can provide a wide array of benefits, making it a versatile and effective way to support your overall health and well-being.

In the Sanskrit tradition, this primal sound is called "Anahata Nada," the "Unstruck Sound." Literally, this means "the sound that is not made by two things striking together." Thus, sound that is not made of two things striking together is a sound with no physical qualities, the "sound" of energy, the sound of the universe itself. Joseph Campbell likens this unstruck vibration to the humming of an electrical transformer, or the—to our ears—unheard hummings of atoms and molecules. Ancient Vedic traditions teach that the audible sound which most resembles and evokes in us the unstruck sound is the vocal syllable OM. This ancient mantra is composed of four elements: a sequence of three vowels: A, U, and M, and the silence which begins and ends the sequence, the silence which surrounds it. It might be said that the ultimate aim of Yoga is to enter this third dreamless realm while awake. Yoga means "yoke" or "join." Through yoga we "join" our waking consciousness to its "source" in the world of pure, qualitiless unconsciousness Studies have shown that Om chanting can induce changes in brain wave activity, particularly in the alpha and theta frequency bands. Alpha waves are associated with relaxation and meditation, while theta waves are associated with deep relaxation and sleep. In Hindu texts (Mandukya Upanishads), AUM is regarded as the sound of the universe, from which everything originated. It represents the sound of Pranava and the vibration of the four states of the Supreme Being. BENEFITS Chanting "Aum" can reduce cortisol levels, a hormone released during stress. This can lead to a decrease in anxiety and stress Improved concentration Improved lung capacity Calming effect on the brain Better cardiovascular health improves blood circulation

12 science-backed strategies for cancer prevention (00:00) Avoid tobacco — Quitting smoking reduces excess mortality risk by ~90% if done in early adulthood; quitting later can still cut lung cancer risk by 50% within 10–15 years. (00:58) Maintain a healthy body weight — Obesity increases risk for ~13 cancer types. For example, obesity is linked to 50–60% of endometrial cancers. ~11% of cancers in women and ~5% of cancers in men are linked to excess body weight. (02:45) Regular physical activity — At least 150 min/week of vigorous or 300 min/week of moderate exercise significantly reduces cancer risk. (03:32) Eat fiber-rich foods — Each additional 10 grams/day of fiber reduces colorectal cancer risk by ~10%. Eating five servings of fruits and vegetables daily can slash colon cancer risk by 50–60%. (05:46) Limit processed meat and ultra-processed foods — Regular consumption is strongly linked to increased colorectal cancer rates, mirroring the exponential rise in incidence since the 1930s due to dietary shifts. (07:00) Reduce alcohol intake — Daily alcohol consumption significantly raises cancer risk. Even moderate drinking (one drink/day) raises breast cancer risk by ~10%; two to three drinks/day boosts it ~20%. (08:12) Use sunscreen — Consistent sunscreen use reduced melanoma incidence by 50% in a 10-year randomized trial; critical since melanoma rapidly metastasizes. (09:06) Test your home for radon — Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. Radon enters homes invisibly through soil, particularly during winter when doors and windows stay closed. (09:52) Manage stress — Chronic stress increases cancer incidence through immune and inflammatory pathways, though exact biological mechanisms remain unclear. (10:17) Prioritize sleep and circadian rhythm — Night-shift work is classified as a probable carcinogen due to circadian disruption. Regularly getting 7–8 hours of sleep supports hormonal and immune regulation to reduce cancer risk. (10:56) Vitamin D supplementation — Clinical trials show 2,000 IU/day can reduce cancer-related deaths. Genetic studies reinforce that low vitamin D levels significantly elevate cancer mortality risk. (14:54) Avoid beta-carotene supplements if you previously smoked — High-dose beta-carotene supplements (30 mg/day) increased lung cancer risk by 28% in former smokers, likely due to interactions within lung tissue.

Use creatine to protect your brain from head injuries: Repeated head injuries can lead to second-impact syndrome, where a subsequent injury before full recovery causes rapid and potentially permanent brain damage. This is a significant risk for athletes, military, or anyone prone to traumatic brain injury (TBI) or concussions. But here's the good news: research has shown that creatine supplementation can help mitigate the damage caused by second-impact syndrome. In fact, studies have found that creatine depletion prior to additional impacts can worsen the damage to your brain. So, what should you do? If you do experience a head injury, it's essential to replenish your creatine stores as quickly as possible. Creatine monohydrate is a good option, as it's the most researched and widely used form in studies, and it's also one of the most affordable and available options. Creating a regular creatine supplementation routine can be beneficial for overall health and wellness, regardless of your risk level for head injuries. You can obtain creatine through both food sources and supplements. While it is possible to get creatine from food, particularly from meat sources (which contain around 400-600mg of creatine per 100g or 3.5oz serving), it can be challenging to achieve the high dosages needed through diet alone. Most studies on creatine monohydrate for brain injuries have used high dosages of around 20g per day, which is significantly higher than the typical dosages used for performance benefits. As a preventative measure, a daily dose of 5-10g may be sufficient for most people. However, if you know you'll be at risk of exposure to head impacts, you may want to increase your dosage to 20-30g per day for a week, split into multiple doses. Remember, the primary goal should always be to minimize the number of head impacts and injuries in the first place.
