Asked Jaylen Brown about how galvanizing this type of comeback is and how it feels to be a part of it: “Yeah, that's tough. I've been on teams where you get down significantly, it's tough to get back into the game, especially here in Miami, the crowd is behind them. They seem to have everything rolling. But that just shows the poise of our team, you know?” “We just stuck with it and just kept making plays, chipped away, and then we were back into the ball game. And then we just made plays down the stretch to close it out.” “But that's the sign of a good team, honestly, when you can come back from down big and still find ways to win.”

Asked Baylor Scheierman when he felt like his lifelong confidence officially translated to the NBA level: “It was towards the end of my rookie year, when I was getting a little bit of run there, towards the end of the season, the last couple months. I had that good game against Philly, and once that game happened and clicked, I was able to just settle the nerves a little bit, and able to just soak in the environment and kind of just go from there. And so I think, if I pinpoint one thing, probably that. But like you said, I've been super confident person my whole life, but just seeing that success go in those games towards the end of my rookie year really helped me feel like I could make an impact.” Scheierman played 30 minutes and scored 15 points in that March 6th game last Spring

Damn one of you actually just hit almost a 170,000x on METAWIN.COM If you gamble, make sure you’re doing it there. Especially this week… They just announced they have $400k in rewards going out to everyone who plays there this week If you deposit on you qualify And if you hit a big win, MetaWin is one of the (very few) casinos that actually lets you withdraw it immediately. No questions asked. Comment your username I’ll start one of you off with $300 to spin with

So all that you need to leave and this and that . . . I mean, when you’re build something, it's never just going to pop up and be the best thing. Asked Jaylen Brown if he feels like he’s been able to improve individually this season: “For sure. And I've been able to be in this in a role where I'd be able to kind of control things, and everybody's kind of playing off me. I've been in those roles seldom over the years, but this year, for an extended amount of time, I've been able to be in that position. And it's honestly, I feel like I still have a lot of room to grow. I feel like even now over the last couple of games, I've adjusted my game, and I'm still continuing to get better in my playmaking ability, seeing the floor, taking my time, all of that stuff is still continuing to improve, but it's honestly — it's my first opportunity in my career where I've been able to do this for an extended period of time. And obviously, regardless, people are going to have their critiques and their criticism, but it's just it's a completely different flow when people play off you or when you play off others. It’s two completely different things. From people watching the game, you just think, like, ‘just roll the ball out, and everything's supposed to work great. Players are all supposed to fit together.’ It doesn't always work like that. Sometimes you got to take a backseat, or sometimes you got to play more offball. So everything shifts. But this year, I've been able to play at my own pace, and I've been able to control my own destiny.”

Mike Breen on Bam's 83 "You know what? People love to be outraged. That's just what it is today. I can understand…it was made a mockery down the stretch…not the normal thing you see in an NBA game. [But] this is a guy who represents the very best of the NBA, the way he carries himself, the kind of teammate he is, the work ethic…Nothing but a great ambassador for the NBA, a high character individual, and his story is amazing. So for him & the Miami Heat fans to have a night like that, I thought that was wonderful…I'm not trying to cop out by saying they're both right, but sometimes there's a gray area…and we don't have to be outraged by everything"

Lebron on what it takes to play for as long as he has at a high level that the average fan may not understand: "It starts way before you get on the floor. They see us once the game is going the popcorn's been popped and the lights are brighter. It takes so much more like sacrifice and discipline and things over the course if you want to be really great at this and if you want to do it for a long period of time. It's so many hours that you got to commit to it. There's so many things that you maybe want to do that you can't if you want to be great but everybody's journey is different. I'm just speaking from my journey but I do think that the game gives back to the ones who put the time in and commit to the game. That's just the game God's rewarding and we don't cheat the process"

Max Strus admits the lights were bright for him in the 2023 NBA finals: “Game 1, you can look at history and can’t deny the stats. My game 1 was awful. The amount of pressure that goes into the finals and everybody in the world is watching this game and talking about this game, you can’t escape it. It did get the best of me. I’ll admit it. Chris Bosh on the legendary game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals: “People still talk about this to this day. All I remember before this — it was just trouble…I wasn’t having fun playing basketball anymore, that’s how stressful that whole series was because San Antonio were so good. Even in the games that you won — you never felt you were ahead of the curve…playing one of my heroes in Tim Duncan and he was killing me…I remember sitting down in the locker room…just thinking like ‘I have to make something happen or we’re going to lose’ that was a very stressful time but I’m glad we won…” (via NBA Take Two)

Quentin Tarantino recounts a dinner with Robert De Niro during the making of Jackie Brown, where he asked him whether he understood when he landed the role of Vito in The Godfather Part II, that it would change his life. De Niro’s answer revealed a great deal about his mindset at the time. “I was working with Robert De Niro on Jackie brown, and we went out to dinner once. - When he got Vito in the Godfather Part II, that was going to be a big thing for him. He won the Oscar for it - it set him up to be a movie star. So I asked him - and I've asked this to quite a few actors when it comes to when they got the role that would end up changing their career - did he realize that the moment when he got the role, that it would have this sort of effect? And he goes oh, “I tried not to let it do that. I tried not to think about that” I go, "really? and why did you try not to think about that?" “Well because I’ve seen it happen and then go the other way” And then he used an example. “There was this guy, he was a young actor, and he was part of our crowd in New York. He'd been doing okay, but we were all in the same boat. Then all of a sudden he got a lead role. He's one of the two leads in a brand new movie by a director who had just done a smash hit.” And he's talking about Larry Pierce (the director) and uh... Goodbye Columbus. ”And he started dining out on it. And all of a sudden I go to the places that we used to go to, and now he's there and everyone's kind of revolving around him. He's kind of holding court. He's not doing anything bad; he's just arisen in the way that none of us have - and we're all treating him different. Then the movie comes out; nobody likes it - The movie comes out, and it goes away, and he's exactly in the same place he was. And I just wanted to make sure that that would never happen to me because I watched it happen to him.” Quote from Video Archives Podcast, sourced from James Whale Bake Sale YouTube channel. “Courts have stopped the president from defacing the Kennedy Center, but they haven’t stopped him from destroying the Kennedy Center. And the larger fight is over the future of the Kennedy Center. And that fight is surrounding Trump’s plan to close it down for two years and then gut it, and then renovate it, however he sees fit, I’m sure with a lot of gold stuff, right? And that fight is still ongoing.” “And what that means is that after July 4th, there is nothing planned at the Kennedy Center. If you look on the website in the calendar, there’s nothing booked. So, he’s effectively killing the Kennedy Center, even though his name’s not going to be on it, by just not booking anything and not putting anybody in charge of it. And that’s a tragedy for the Kennedy Center. And whatever you thought about the Kennedy Center before, for the next period of time, it’s going to be vacant.” “And that’s Trump’s decision. He would rather kill it out of spite because he didn’t get his way than to let it continue even imperfectly in the way it was operating. That’s very sad for the people who care about the Kennedy Center and the programming that was going on there.”
