Thank you to all who joined us in Brewer yesterday to fight to stop this senseless war. Full remarks and video below. ********* First, I want to say thank you to Food and Medicine for having me. The work of Food and Medicine, the Eastern Maine Labor Council, quite frankly, has really kept organizing alive and as part of the state for a long time. And if you have the time and the energy to get involved, I highly recommend that you do. I also just want to give a hearty thank you to everyone who's joined us here today. It means a lot and it also shows that this is, whether it's mothers, whether it's veterans, whether it's people just running for political office and part of our main community, nobody wants this war. Absolutely no one thinks that this is a good idea. And the reason why they don't want it is because they know what it's actually about. This is a war that's being pushed by Benjamin Netanyahu. He's been trying to make this war happen for almost 30 years. This is a war that's being pushed by the Saudis, who have also wanted this war to happen. Two nations that are happy to watch American blood be expended on their behalf. This war is also being pushed because Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. And other people in the White House, and other people connected with the Epstein class. They are terrified that we have noticed what they are doing. They are terrified that we're going to start wondering why the hell we let them stay in power. And to do that, they're going to do the oldest trick in the book. They're going to try to just start a war to distract all of us. They are willing to sacrifice the lives of young American men and women and the lives of Iranian civilians simply to protect their political interests. I cannot think of a more reprehensible act. I cannot think of a more unpatriotic act, of a more un-American act, than to send our sons and daughters off to die, to kill, to bring immense violence to innocent civilians abroad simply because you're afraid you might lose the midterms. It is disgusting. As reprehensible as it is, it's also important to remember that this situation we find ourselves in is only possible because we have had a Congress that for decades has abdicated its responsibility, its constitutional responsibility, in making war. We need to rescind the 2001 Authorization of Use of Military Force. Its vague language and lack of clarity has been abused by multiple administrations of both parties to carry out wars in the name of the military-industrial complex and those in power, to carry out military operations that did absolutely nothing to keep Americans safe, but made some people very, very wealthy and protected the political interests of those in power. It needs to go. But not only does it need to go, we need a war powers resolution that actually claws power back from the executive branch. The resolutions that are on the table, I highly recommend you call your elected officials and put pressure on them to vote for them. They are necessary, but they are not sufficient. We need a truly reformed War Powers Act, where we really pull the power back. No more 48 hours of combat operations where you have to notify Congress. No more 60 days of combat operations before you have to prove to Congress that you should have gone to war in the first place. No. We need to know why military force is used right off the bat. And it needs to be approved by Congress right off the bat. The Constitution is clear about who is supposed to have the power of waging war in this country. It is the body that is most representative of the American people because it is the American people who have to bear the brunt of combat. It is the American people who are asked to make the sacrifice. It is American families who have to bury their dead sons and daughters. It is American friends who have to watch their best friends come home from a war and struggle for years with physical and mental trauma.

🚨Trump Betrayed His Voters on Behalf of a Foreign Country. 🚨"Trump could end the war in Ukraine with a single phone call" – Tucker Carlson. 🚨The same people who pushed Trump into war with Iran are pushing him to continue the war against Russia, against Putin. 📑And there was already a neocon war in progress, the war between the United States and Russia, which we mistakenly, misleadingly sometimes refer to as the Ukraine war. In other words, it's a war between the US and Russia. And that war, which began in the winter of 2022, was inspired by the Biden administration, which wanted it. So the United States, in the most passive-aggressive possible way, our leadership pushed Russia into this war so that the United States could defeat or weaken Russia. No one's ever defined what exactly that means. The whole project is insane. But that's what happened. And Trump knew exactly what was going on at the time and said so, and said repeatedly in interviews and in private, the main thing that we should worry about is Russia joining forces, being pushed into an alliance with China, because that would leave us where? It would leave us facing off against a coalition of the world's largest country, that would be Russia, with the world's largest population, that would be China, the world's largest economy, also China, the world's deepest military industrial capacity and resource bed, that would be Russia, against us. And we can't win. If Russia and China get together, we're done. Trump said that many times. And it's true, and it's proven to be true. And no, we can't win. So Trump knew that. And that's why he promised repeatedly on the campaign trail, when I am president, I will bring that war to a close. Watch. Before I even arrive at the Oval Office shortly after I win the presidency, I will have the war between Russia and Ukraine settled. I'll do it in 24 hours. It's not tough to do. That's easy compared to, that's easy compared to a lot of things. Well, he's right. It actually is easy compared to a lot of things. Now, you'll often hear the foreign policy establishment, the experts, people in DC, the State Department will tell you, no, it's very, very complicated. Well, it's actually not that complicated because Ukraine as a nation no longer exists. American policymakers have basically genocided the entire population of the country. More than a million people have died. Now being sent to the front in handcuffs to certain death. Apparently, that's part of the reason we're doing this. It gets very dark very fast when you start to think about it. But Ukraine itself could never prosecute a war against Russia because, well, for one thing, Russia has more than 100 million more people. So the whole thing is absurd. There is no war between Russia and Ukraine. And in practical terms, the United States, through its intel agencies, provides the targeting information for Ukrainian missiles and drones. So the war would, the war would end tomorrow if the US were actually to withdraw that support. And Trump could do that with one phone call. Hey, Director of Central Intelligence. Hey, NSA Director. No mas. Anyone caught running the war for the Ukrainians will be fired and brought up on charges. And that would end the war. And yes, Russia would wind up with a chunk of eastern Ukraine. That's going to happen no matter what. And it might be better for Ukraine to stop sending its next generation, in fact, middle-aged men and people with Down syndrome into the meat grinder. That's the only option. And Trump could do that, but he hasn't, not for two years. Now, why? Well, it's really simple. Dear people outside the United States 🇺🇲, This is Phoenix, Arizona 🏜️ I'd like to share with you what my country, the USA, really is like. You're bombarded with our music, our television shows, & what you see is & hear isn't reality. What you see is a lie. You're told "everything is bigger in America! Anything I'd possible in America!" but that means the problems too. People are living in "tent cities" all across the country 🏕️ because housing is too expensive & wages are too low. 50% of people ages 22-29 moved back home with their parents because they're drowning in student loan debt, something you don't have in your country thank God. The American dream is a lie. It's really the "American nightmare "...poverty is rampant here. And it's only getting worse... #PoorPeoplesCampaign
