@TheNotDeadYetUK Giiiiiiirl, I dunno, man. Stfu. Every person should have a right to die with dignity and peace. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops for a basic human right. It shouldn't matter if you're physically fked or fked in the head. If dying is a wish, grant it.

The Assisted Suicide Bill Committee has finished. My final speech here. This is not the Bill the public thought they were getting. It contradicts the NHS Act and the Hippocratic Oath. It's got worse, not better, in committee.

This morning the Leadbeater Bill committee voted to let Clause 1 go through unamended - having rejected safeguards to protect the mentally ill, disabled people, those influenced or encouraged by others or those seeking assisted suicide to save their family money. We were told at 2R the committee would improve and strengthen the bill. Not so far.

Today I spoke in favour of a number of amendments to the Assisted Dying Bill. Fundamentally, I do not believe the safeguards in the Bill can protect people from coercion. I remain opposed to the Bill and will vote against at 3rd Reading.
