@gdb @OpenAIDevs @victornunez @paw_lean This is rad - what does the plugin do that goes beyond just computer use on the onshape project? I was a little wary of onshape's MCP using featurescript but I'm guessing this isn't going through that.

@gdb @OpenAIDevs @victornunez @paw_lean codex/astra built a plugin that allows it's subagents to work in the backend designing parts/making changes then it simply brings everything together in the onshape web browser to review i'm going to make the onshape plugin open source and available soon 😉

@gdb @OpenAIDevs @victornunez @paw_lean it’s actually on my list to test it out with fusion 360, but it’s been doing so well with onshape ive not even made myself stop and switch lol i honestly think that it would do well with any cad package that has good documentation to reference will keep pushing the boundaries

GPT-6-Astra has solved Onshape by PTC for me 😎 it's been building a robot using the sensors i've chosen; i simply dictate to codex what changes i want, and then watch in real-time while it makes them happen in CAD this is ridiculous lol btw that's me controlling the mouse & model views while codex works from the backend using a connector that it built

One of my childhood dreams was to one day ride aboard the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 from the original Star Trek series. I have now realized perhaps the next best thing: creating the USS Enterprise from scratch with GPT-6 Astra using a CAD program! The entire starship was designed directly inside CAD (AutoFusion), with 28 moving parts, the captain’s bridge, several interior areas, and a design that could potentially be 3D printed! The video below was also created by Astra of the actual CAD designed model of the starship. I’ll share a separate video showing it in much more detail, and I’ll put all the CAD files on GitHub as soon as I finish designing a few more parts. 😊 This feels so magical! As Sam Altman has said, using AI now feels like having a genie that grants your wishes! A childhood dream that once existed only in my imagination is now something I can actually design, build, explore, and perhaps soon even hold in my hands! Only stars are the limit!

just dropped my first video in a 5 part series where we build a full travel planner app on Replit and i am so excited 🌍✈️ as a software engineer, design has always felt a little out of reach for me. like i had all these ideas in my head but turning them into something that actually looks good was a whole other skill set. but the Replit Canvas genuinely changed that for me. my favourite way to use the Canvas is to bring in reference images and websites to help me to create designs! in this first video we jump into the Canvas, explore design directions for our travel app, and apply a final look to a real working app. it is so fun i promise. go watch it and let me know what you think 🎨👇

I hesitate posting this for a bunch of reasons, but I think it's good to just be transparent about everything. I love to highlight all of the incredible things that FSD does, but I also think it's good to talk about any issues that it has currently. In my opinion the E2E on the highway needs some major changes. This clip was from my drive yesterday, and it is without a doubt the most dangerous situation that FSD has put me in. Yes, I am aware that it is FSD Supervised - everything that happens in the car is ultimately my responsbility. I just was wanting to see what the car would do, and I was hoping that it would make a better decision to be honest. Let me know what you think.

so I started with FreeCAD, since i am a linux guy, haven't touched windows since the past 8 years. Also I did this online course from Uni of California Irvine on "building your hardware for your embedded and IoT projects" which had FreeCAD as the main CAD software. FreeCAD was free, and fun, yeah a bit buggy sometimes but gets the job done, since initially all the CAD work i had was just builidng cases, or mounts, or some light hobby stuff. So FreeCAD did just fine. Then I joined a company as a product engineer where I worked with LiFePo4 home energy storage battery packs and was responsible for all the modules of the pack (Cells, BMS, MCUs, Touch Display ) mainly the embedded system. Since I was the product engineer, I'd have back and forth convos with the CAD designers off the battery pack box/casing. I didn't really do any CAD work on that project, tho it seemed really interesting to me. They used Solidworks, and I installed windows for it(swallowing that was difficult); to do Solidworks in my free time which I hardly got. I tried Solidworks and I kinda liked it. But then I quit the job and started working on my SAAS products. A few months into it, it's not fun anymore, slowly getting started with CAD and eventually to electronics to hardware products. Now, I want to go about CAD. I'll be doing a 30 days CAD challenge increasing in complexity and will be sharing daily progress here! It was day 2; I designer a bolt and a nut. I'm going with Fusion 360 for now, coz i like the UI/UX and the hobbyist version is free. So yeah. This is so much fun, i completely lost track of time while doing it. Gemini on the side is alot helpful.

Today, I am grateful for the trust that was placed in my work, and for all the support you have given me over the years. 🫂 Thank you everyone, from the bottom of my heart! 💕 Here is a retrospective video reel showing off some of my VFX over the years.
