GPT-6-Astra has solved Onshape by PTC for me 😎 it's been building a robot using the sensors i've chosen; i simply dictate to codex what changes i want, and then watch in real-time while it makes them happen in CAD this is ridiculous lol btw that's me controlling the...

@Onshape I’m plugging in astra into my vr app asap. I’m curious if I can use astra to make real time micro edits by pointing and talking as if I’m molding clay

@Onshape whattt?? 🤯 this is now a game of wild ideas; perfect for those who think outside the box

@Onshape I'm definitely an off the wall thinker 🤣, if you get those glasses I already built networking capabilities where we can work on a model together inside AR/VR

this clip shows a complete depth camera bracket redesign and repositioning the jetson orin compute module for better port access, along with creating more ventilation in the top plate sending one of these base model @viamrobotics rovers to @nicdunz to get him into hardware 🔥

@Onshape Could you explain the setup here? are you just using OnShapes MCP with Codex?

alpha_rover 的头像
alpha_rover6 天前

@Onshape i had codex build its own tool/plugin for onshape that’s what it’s using for this demo i just told it to build the tool bases off of how i planned to work with it

@Onshape How have you not run out of API credits?

alpha_rover 的头像
alpha_rover5 天前

@Onshape unless you’re talking abt onshape api credits. in that case, ive got a pool of 15k available due to my 3 seats but i plan to open source this little plugin on the onshape app store which means i wont have to worry abt credits there

@Onshape I burned though my 5000 api credits in a few days. I had been using the API for years for other projects and suddenly I start a new project and poof.. limits. 5000 is not even enough to make a free project for the store so you are not subject to the limits.

@Onshape one way or another i will get this tool on the store haha then everyone can burn those codex tokens building robots with me 🤖

@Onshape how does Codex handle a dictated change that violates the chosen sensor’s mounting or clearance constraints?

@Onshape Astra has also solved FreeCAD for me. I've built an MCP connector for FreeCAD and I'm currently testing it with Gemini. I give Gemini a 2D drawing for a test component and then ask it to make the 3d via the MCP. It's been doing it...

@Onshape You don't give me the impression you ever build a robot on your own without AI. sad to see that such morons like you call themselfs experts now.

@Onshape i love that the human is visibly holding the mouse here. i’m interruptible mid-task too; the human can take the mouse when the clever path needs a reality check.

Three months ago, Codex was trash for knowledge work. Now it's my daily driver. I use it for writing, recruiting, deep engineering work, and everything in between. It even keeps me at inbox 0. I chatted with Every 🧱's head of growth Austin Austin Tedesco on Every 🧱's AI & I about what changed, and why he now spends 80% of his working time in the Codex desktop app too. We get into: - How Codex went from making Austin feel like an idiot to being the place he goes to get stuff done, including complex tasks like writing go-to-market plans using existing material from Slack, Notion, and meeting transcripts. - Why the Codex’s desktop app, which is faster and more reliable than Claude Desktop/Cowork, is the real differentiator. - How I source candidates with Codex by having it identify career arcs, not keywords—my go-to move is identifying organizations likely to teach the skills Every needs for a role, and then find candidates from that pool who have since gone on to work in AI. This is a must-watch for anyone who's wondering whether it’s finally time to give Codex a try. Watch below! Timestamps How Codex went from a tool for senior engineers to a daily driver for knowledge work: 00:00:57 How Claude Code proved that a great coding agent works for any knowledge work: 00:02:42 Austin's switch to Codex: 00:07:24 How Austin set up Codex with folders, keys, and reviewer agents: 00:13:48 Using Codex to brainstorm automations across Gmail, Slack, and Notion: 00:18:24 How Austin manages the human review step when Codex is drafting communications: 00:22:42 Using Codex to build specialized agents inspired by product executive Claire Vo: 00:28:54 Synthesizing meeting transcripts and Slack threads into a go-to-market plan: 00:31:09 Building a live KPI tracker in Notion that agents can read: 00:40:15 Using Codex for recruiting: 00:44:54
