At about the 19 minute mark Back to the Future (1985) transforms from a typical 80s teen comedy into a timeless classic with this scene. Michael J. Fox will always be my hero, on and off the screen, and Christopher Lloyd I've loved since Cuckoo's Nest. This is Movie Perfection.

I watched the Philharmonic perform Raiders of the Lost Ark live-to-picture once. It was amazing!

Fox’s delivery of “are you telling me…” is remarkably natural and compelling. With pretty any other actor on the planet, that line is inauthentic, canned, and fakey. Just an incredible talent.

Cut off at the wrong time. When Doc Brown opens the DeLorean's door Einstein is not only unharmed, but the chronometer he's wearing is exactly 1:00min BEHIND Doc Brown's. Cool detail. For Einstein, the trip was instantaneous.

This was filmed at Puente Hills Mall, where I used to go as a young teen. We were so excited when we saw the parking lot in the movie. Always a classic. My kids love this movie as well.

Now you're preaching to the choir. I've seen BTTF hundreds of times. I own several versions of the script. I saw II in a theater a few weeks ago. Two summers ago we watched BTTF on a big screen outside, with a big sound system. SO much better that way. There are certainly flaws, but I think BTTF is the greatest, or maybe, most entertaining combination of story telling, cinematography, acting and direction ever made. So much fun. So well done. So classic. "Rock and roll."
