What’s your attitude when you get a windy day on the course? One of the best things about playing links golf is you get used to the wind. You go from fearing it to craving it. (When the course is made for wind.) We had a super windy day at Kennemer in Holland. Had 180 yards straight into the breeze on 9, went with a dead hand 7 wood and struck gold. A great shot is always satisfying. But the more variables you take on, the more satisfying it is. Learning to treat wind as an opportunity to really play golf completely changes your enjoyment level.

The famous 16th hole at Cypress Point. Playing 220 to the pin. Wind howling to the left and into. Last time, I tried to muscle a 3 wood and ended up drowning. This time I went with the bunt driver. It’s the rare golf hole so impactful to play that you think about it the entire round. Heck, I was thinking about it the day the round was scheduled. It’s so hard. It’s so beautiful. It’s the most thrilling golf shot in the entire world.

What’s the best golf course in the USA that no longer exists? This was once a golf course… Look at the land on the water. Just an unreal piece of ground. That was the original Sutton Bay golf course. Sadly the land kept shifting and moving into the water, it became an un-winnable battle. The course sadly had to be abandoned. I never got to play the original. The new one is incredible, fun and creative and with great views. But the original must have been something else…

Who is the longest driving golf course superintendent? The 12th hole at The Scarecrow was playing 425….but only 370 if you could make an insane carry. Gamble Sands Superintendent Rob Ackerley decided to go for it and ended up green high!!! He was bombing it 350+ all day, even drove over a 360 yard par 4 green. Power for days. Though I did birdie the hole from 180 yards …scorecard doesn’t show your distances! 😂

The rapper took part in the Derek Jeter Invitational at Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas on Tuesday (Dec. 16) and had a shocking moment on the course. Why it’s a good idea to play golf with me- or hang out with me. I have been present or have hung out with people who have had 9 hole in one’s. Today I spent the day at Mt Lake. My host gets a hole-in-one on the very last day the course is open. The course goes under restoration tomorrow!!! Last week it was an albatross on the MacKenzie Course at 21 Golf Club. Even saw one at Augusta National. I am a lucky charm!

Okay, I know seaside links is the best golf. But in the summer in America, mountain golf is so good. Wearing a quarter zip in July… Nick Faldo teeing off the first at Moonlight Basin. Can go safe right or try to clear the waste left. It’s at altitude, so 270 goes 300. One of the wildest golf courses I’ve ever played.

Sound up! Cypress, Pebble Beach, and Spyglass are all known for their stunning par 3 holes. But most don’t know that right there on 17 Mile Drive is one that rivals all of the above. The 14th hole at Monterrey Peninsula Country Club is truly one of the special places in golf. Tourists watch from the road as you tee off. From the tips it’s a beast. We got an absolutely perfect day yesterday. Skies so blue. Just doesn’t get much better.

One of the neatest things about golf in Japan: The moving walkways! Japan is all about walking golf, despite the fact that it’s brutally hot and super hilly. These walkways are a nice respite. This one is from Yokohama, where the PGA Tour is playing right now. Also the caddies bring solar umbrellas for the players. Legit amazing. They think of everything.

Do you walk when you play golf? If so, do you use a push cart or carry your clubs? If you're doing either, you should definitely give an electric cart a try. It's a total game changer. Using an electric cart is so much easier than carrying or pushing. You’ll have way more energy by the end of the round. For me, that's huge because when my legs get tired, my swing and contact suffer. Plus, I still get all my steps in, which is why I love walking when I play. Sure, you can carry your clubs. I sometimes do that for a quick nine holes. And yes, a manually powered push cart works too. But it's like playing golf in non-waterproof shoes—it’s possible, but keeping your feet dry is so much nicer. That’s how I feel about an electric cart. I can play without one, but having one makes the experience so much better. I love how much more energy I have at the end of the round when I use an electric cart. But you also need to factor in how far offline the wind will push the ball. Learning how the wind impacts your ball flight is a cheat code. I love using my SkyTrak to simulate wind conditions to understand how the ball reacts. This is a SkyTrak feature that many overlook, but they shouldn't, as it's so valuable.
