What’s your attitude when you get a windy day on the course? One of the best things about playing links golf is you get used to the wind. You go from fearing it to craving it. (When the course is made for wind.) We had a super windy day at Kennemer in Holland. Had 180 yards straight into the breeze on 9, went with a dead hand 7 wood and struck gold. A great shot is always satisfying. But the more variables you take on, the more satisfying it is. Learning to treat wind as an opportunity to really play golf completely changes your enjoyment level.

‼️I don't think people are grasping how MISERABLE this Winter Storm will be. This Winter Storm will be NOTHING like last week’s storm❌ 🥶 Portions of the Carolinas will turn into SIBERIA on Saturday, as Hurricane Force Wind gusts and close to a FOOT of Snow fall at the same time. 🌀 Our Storm is what’s called a BOMB CYCLONE, meaning it is a rapidly strengthening Low Pressure System. 💨 Instead of a calm, steady Snow, conditions will be ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL inside the core of the storm as Blizzard like Snow and Wind WHIP around. 🌡️ On top of that, Temperatures will be Frigid, with Wind Chills close to 0. Golf holes with no escape. The 2nd hole is a 210 yard par 3 with a 180 yard carry. Playing 20 yards longer into the wind. Yes it’s hard. Yes I saw good players top the ball into the nether. But the reward is so satisfying when you hit the great shot.

First round of the Northern Open at the legendary Royal Dornoch — and honestly, what a privilege to play a course with this kind of history and character. It’s one of the best in the world for a reason. Links golf is a different beast. The turf’s firmer, the bounce is unpredictable, and the wind is a constant factor — especially up here. It demands a completely different style of play compared to parkland courses. You’ve got to think way ahead, control your ball flight, and accept that sometimes the ground game is your best (and only) option. Today, I didn’t hit it great and definitely struggled to adapt in the wind and cold. A few wayward shots and some scrappy moments left me grinding out a 74 (+4), which puts me mid-pack. It wasn’t pretty, but sometimes links golf is about survival more than style. My approach play was a real sticking point. But that’s not how serious compression is created. Pull in as you turn the corner, and keep that upper left arm tied to the chest. That’s where the speed, control, and compression come together. Nice sunny day in Bavaria. Another day when all these wind turbines stand perfectly still， as expensive land decorations without generating a single watt of electricity. I saw more than 50 wind turbines today while driving and hiking through the landscape. Not a single one of them was turning. I used to support the so called "renewables". But having eyes to observe and a brain to think make me doubt the renewable maximumist narrative. Southern Germany is simply not suitable to build more wind turbines， because it is just not windy enough. No amount of government mandate or subsidies can change that. Green's 100% renewable fantasy is an expensive war against nature.

One thing we are watching now is potential ERC (eyewall replacement cycle) beginning. Pressure / wind may have temporarily peaked. Some of the hurricane models have suggested multiple eyewall replacement cycles through Tuesday. For tonight, it is possible this eyewall replacement is quick then we see another dip even stronger overnight with lower pressure and even higher winds. These eyewall replacement cycles will have impacts on how the storm comes into FL Wednesday night. Eventually these should grow the eye and core with time. If the cycles are finished before it hits the wind shear, that could make it a little more resilient to the wind shear. A smaller eye and core probably gets bothered more by the dry air intrusion/wind shear that should be meeting up with #Milton late Wednesday off the Tampa coast. So, these cycles are important in the eventual core structure as it nears the coast late WED.

I believe the mistake most golfers make is that they try to hit a straight ball. Hogan said hitting it straight was a “fluke”. If you aim up the right side and draw it or vice versa, then you make the fairway as big as possible. If you aim up the middle, you then you cut the fairway in half. This means a shot that draws too much ends up in the rough on the left and a ball that fades too much ends up in the right rough. The game is tough enough, so try to give yourself as much advantage as possible. GP #PXGTroops
