Our hottest launch of 2024 is here! 🔥 Who will take up the challenge of aerial duels? 🛩️ "Warhammer 40,000: Dakka Squadron" is available now on the Nintendo eShop! More info:

@Meteomatics a reusable radiosonde, nice! i used to hunt them in college and wondered why NOAA was dropping so much free gear every day

@Meteomatics Sick

@Meteomatics Lol 249g is pretty random considering that's the limit for a drone operator without a license, yet limited to 400' not 90k. So what's the point?

@Meteomatics the Meteoglider is not classified as a UAS but as a radiosonde (already in CH, USA and FR). The point is an alternative to normal radiosondes would be much less valuable if it came with a significant weight increase compared to normal models. (larger balloon, more gas)

@Meteomatics Yooo @ASong408 @liseman have you seen their version??

@Meteomatics You left the balloon there to die

@Meteomatics Balloon is made from natural latex, for the moment we focus on recovering the most polluting and valuable parts, so the electronics and lithium batteries of the radiosonde.

@Meteomatics Well done! Why not make the balloon reusable? Just for the challenge. Actuated release valve(s), mechanism to pull balloon into the (slightly wider) body of the plane within 30 sec. (worm gear, alternatives, etc.). Expect to change the cg simultaneously. Would be fun.

@Meteomatics Ww, that's great! 👏 @ZsofiaBodo
