For generative AI to become an interesting art tool, we need much more control over the output. The slot-machine-like nature of pure text-to-image leaves too much to chance. Using the "Real-time Latent Consistency Model" that I'm using in the example here, is the first time I truly got a glimpse of a future where we'll be able to use our artistic skills and sensibility, to get control over AI image gen. Systems like these will never be able to match the quality or originality of a skilled artist, it won't surprise us in the same way an artist can. Things are a mess in terms of the training data these models are based on, and the questions about copyright concerns and about a time when everything will look the same are very valid. At some point capabilities like these will be embedded in photoshop, and anyone will be able to generate a pretty picture. But to create interesting designs, to tell original stories and to surprise us, we need creatives and artists with something on their mind. We'll be able to create immersive worlds, by making brush-strokes and sculpt marks, without needing to worry about all the dials, plugins, wires of our 3d and 2d tools today. I love to sculpt, I love to draw, and I love to explore new mediums and new ways to create. The Gen AI tools we have today are far from perfect, and things need to be steered in a better direction. For that we need artists to help point the way. Gen AI isn't going away.. it's too powerful and has the potential to allow us to tell stories like never before. Like all other big technological shifts, tech like this will come at a cost, but it will also open up new opportunities and empower a new generation of storytellers. I might be naive, but I believe that human ingenuity and creativity will persevere in this new world ♥️ #art #ai

If OCI keeps growing near these rates, cloud growth accelerates above 50% and customer prepayments reduce the funding burden then this selloff may eventually look like the painful funding phase before the harvest phase. Oracle now has to prove that massive AI demand can become massive shareholder value without too much dilution.

$Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, explains how young founders can build billion-dollar companies using AI tools the labs themselves haven't fully explored: He argues that the frontier of opportunity in AI is shifting away from building models and toward applying them. His advice to young founders: "You've got to just go with the flow of the direction. I would immerse myself in every tool available and just become almost like superpowered." Even at the frontier labs, the team can only scratch the surface of what's possible with their own technology. But what it unlocks is something far more profound. David Deutsch calls it the beginning of infinity. That idea feels especially relevant now. If you look at the progress of technology over the years, electricity, the internet, computers, the automobile, I think we can all, all accept that in each one of those cases, there are situations and cases where we have to be very careful about. So as the creators of this technology, the industry has to be mindful, thoughtful, rigorous about building and advancing this technology properly. This is the first technology in my generation where we invented a new computer technology where it's easier to access than not. For example the computer until now has been programmable for about 30 million people in the world. About 30 million of us know how to program it and apply it to some useful career. “Today’s LLMs are the ‘Mainframe Computers’ of our generation” I was on Bloomberg TV today discussing Sakana AI, and to share my view that today’s LLMs are our generation’s “Mainframe Computers”. We are still in the very early stages of AI, and it is inevitable, due to market competition and global innovation (especially from those innovating with resource constraints), that this technology will become a million times more efficient. There is a narrative established in Silicon Valley that AI is a “Winner Takes All” technology, and that scaling up existing models and consuming ever greater resources will require (and even justify) the largest investments of our generation, in order to “win” the AI race. In contrast, I believe that AI is not a “winner takes all” technology. LLMs will be commoditized, become vastly more efficient, and made widely available in all countries. Ultimately, there will be thousands, if not millions, of AI models used by everyone. Just like with the evolution of early clunky mainframe computers to modern computing, how we use AI today will look very different in a few years (or even a year from now), compared to today’s ‘clunky’ LLMs.

These folks are missing the point. People aren’t doubting that many in attendance at the Correspondents’ Dinner believed it was real. But, we’re dealing with an administration that lies about EVERYTHING, and Trump’s using it to justify his ballroom. Of course people have questions about whether it was staged, because a lot doesn’t add up. Passing judgment on people at home, while refusing to even consider that journalists in attendance may have been used as pawns, feels like a literal misread of the room.

If you discover how to prompt, AI is a window into your mind. Most of the time, it takes me a day or two, perhaps even longer to create a 5-15 second sequence with AI. Not because of hallucinations or glitches anymore. AI has advanced far to where it's not about catching mistakes like that and rerolling anymore. Every one of my videos was prompted and described to look exactly how it appears in my head. There are some beautiful instances where it spits out something you didn't expect, but flows with your project. That's the beauty of AI. The scene of the character in red is my friend as well. AI feels like magic.
