For generative AI to become an interesting art tool, we need much more control over the output. The slot-machine-like nature of pure text-to-image leaves too much to chance. Using the "Real-time Latent Consistency Model" that I'm using in the example here, is the first time I truly got a... show more

To test out this workflow yourself, check out the model here: It's made by @radamar and works with a webcam feed. To set that up with photoshop for example, you can use OBS's Virtual Camera to capture photoshop and turn it into a webcam feed.

A hand, a brush and a piece of paper solve this. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

@FredMartani No, this is a new type of medium, just like 3d graphics, film, etc. Still very much in its infancy and still very limited in its usefulness as an actual artist's tool.

You are not an artist.

You're repeating the mistakes of the past. It's not the first time people have been trying to tell others what art is and what it isn't. It might not be art that you like though, which is entirely fair and another discussion.

Clearly you can draw. Why are you embarrassing yourself like all the other tech bros who hate art

If you read what I actually write in the post, some of those intentions might become more clear.. but in short, Gen AI isn't going away whether we like it or not. I love art, and I've been drawing and painting since I held a brush for the first time back in the early 80's. We need to consider how we can use this tech to make art tools that actually enable us to make art and tell stories in a new, meaningful way and in ways that will expand what we're able to do way beyond what was possible yesterday. The holodeck won't be possible to achieve using just photoshop and pen and paper ;)

You're not gonna believe this but there's already a tool that lets you control the output completely

I'll make sure to make a tutorial about this workflow soon, so follow along on my YouTube channel where I'll be posting that:

“We need much more control over the output” Have you considered… And I know this is crazy ..drawing? I know, I know, I’m such a wild innovator here.
