The Hug of a Hyena: A Warning to the Kinshasa Opposition Before the tragedy, there is a warm embrace; after it, nothing but crushed bones. There is an old, cautionary fable about a man who carried a hyena on his back wherever he went. Seeing this, a passerby stopped him and warned, "My friend, put that beast down. One day, that hyena will make you its lunch." The man ignored the advice and kept walking. A second man approached him with the exact same warning. Again, the man brushed it off, confident in his bond with the predator. Eventually, curiosity got the better of the man. He turned to the beast on his back and said, "Hey, my friend, people keep telling me that you are going to eat me. Is it true?" The hyena, at least, was brutally honest. It whispered into his ear: "You should always fear a threat that two or three men have already warned you about." Before the man could even process the words, it was too late. The hyena gave him no time to think, snapping its jaws shut. This fable perfectly illustrates the fatal mistake of forming an alliance with Félix Tshisekedi. He is political death on legs. It is tragic to watch the opposition in Kinshasa place their faith in a man who is ready to sell out the entire country, and himself along with it, just to retain the presidency. Having tasted the luxury of flying across the world millions of times, he has absolutely no intention of ever going back to a normal life. The political diagnosis is clear: the only cure for the nation is his absolute removal from that office. And for many, the only viable path left to achieve that is through the AFC-M23, for DRC to be at Peace.

There is a 50-metre stretch of road in Sector 68, Gurugram, that separates around 400 to 500 families at M3M Marina from the new master road GMDA is building between Sectors 68 and 69. Fifty metres. That is all. And it has been blocked. M3M Marina's original main gate was designed to open onto this stretch. The road that would lead straight to the Sector 68-69 dividing road and from there to the Sohna Highway near Badshapur. That gate has never opened. Not once. For four to five years, every resident of Marina has been using a single secondary gate that exits onto the Aklimpur-Teekli village road. A broken, patchy road through a village. Not a backup route. The only route. Now, after years of court disputes and a stay that was finally lifted in early 2026, HSVP cleared the encroachments on the Sector 68-69 road. Ninety percent of the land is free. GMDA tenders are nearly done. The road that thousands of residents had been waiting for is finally being built. For Marina, this should have meant one thing. The main gate could finally open. Instead, Supertech sent people to the connecting stretch. They physically dug up the road. Residents, including school buses carrying children, were turned away. Everyone pushed back toward the same secondary gate. The same broken village road. The same 700 to 800 metres of extra distance every single day. For 400 to 500 families, the solution was 50 metres away. It was dug up in front of them. I visited Marina yesterday with a client. The frustration on the ground is not dramatic. It is tired. These are families that have been asking for this access for years. They were told the road would come. Now a master road is actually being built right next to them. And they still cannot reach it. Supertech owns that land. Legally, it is within its rights. Nobody is questioning the title here. But sit with the picture for a second. This is the same Supertech that is under NCLT insolvency proceedings. The same builder whose allottees have been protesting outside HRERA, demanding refunds for flats that were supposed to be delivered in 2017. A company that cannot return a single rupee to its own buyers. Cannot finish its own construction. Cannot respond to its own regulatory orders. That company still had the resources and the intent to station people at a road and physically dig it up. A builder that cannot refund its own buyers always has the budget to block someone else's road. They all do. That is one constant across Gurugram real estate that never changes. This is not a one-off story either. On Golf Course Extension Road, there are societies where residents pay a private landowner hefty monthly rent just to use his vacant plot as a road to reach their own homes. Because the planned connectivity was never built. The pattern repeats everywhere. Builders launch, buyers pay, and the last 50 metres of access becomes someone else's problem. Sometimes it becomes the resident's monthly bill. The Sector 68-69 master road is being built. The hope was real. For 500 families, it still is. They are just waiting for someone to care about 50 metres.

Ronan Farrow just did to Sam Altman what he did to Harvey Weinstein... The New Yorker dropped an 18-month investigation this morning based on 100+ interviews and a stack of internal documents that were never supposed to leave OpenAI. Ilya's secret memos, Dario Amodei's private journal. Board communications, the full picture of who Sam Altman is when the cameras are off. And the pattern starts way before OpenAI. At his first startup Loopt, senior employees went to the board and asked them to fire Sam as CEO. This happened twice, over concerns about leadership and transparency. He left, joined Y Combinator, and the same thing played out. Partners complained to Paul Graham about Sam's behavior. Graham's private take to colleagues: Sam had been lying to us all the time. Nobody removed him, he kept getting promoted. Eventually he landed the CEO seat at what is now the most consequential AI company in the world. Inside OpenAI, Ilya Sutskever spent months compiling evidence: 70 pages of Slack messages, HR documents, and photos taken on personal phones because employees knew company devices were being monitored. He sent everything to the board as disappearing messages so Sam couldn't make it go away. The very first line of his memo lists Sam's core pattern, and the first word on that list is: Lying Dario Amodei saw the same thing and handled it differently. He kept a private journal for years, over 200 pages, titled "My Experience with OpenAI" with a subheading that said "Private: Do Not Share" After all those pages, his conclusion was one sentence: the problem with OpenAI is Sam himself. He eventually left and built Anthropic. 2 of the smartest people in AI independently reached the same verdict. Neither could stop what was happening. The superalignment team, the group responsible for making sure AI doesn't go off the rails, was promised 20% of OpenAI's compute. 4 people who worked on or with the team told The New Yorker the real number was 1-2%, running on the oldest cluster with the worst hardware. The team got dissolved before finishing its work. Safety was a talking point, not a priority. Sam told the board that a safety panel had approved controversial features in GPT-4. When board member Helen Toner asked for the documentation, it turned out the most sensitive features had never been approved at all. Separately, Microsoft released an early version of ChatGPT in India without completing a required safety review and Sam never mentioned it to the board. When the board finally fired him in November 2023, he texted Satya Nadella directly with his own replacement board lineup. Thrive Capital put its planned $86B investment on hold and signaled it would only close if Sam came back, giving every OpenAI employee a financial reason to support his return. The 2 board members selected to run the "independent investigation" into Sam's conduct were chosen after close conversations with Sam himself. He engineered his own reinstatement and nobody blinked. The New Yorker quotes a board member describing Sam as having two traits you almost never see in the same person: a desperate need to be liked in every interaction, and a near-complete indifference to the consequences of deceiving someone. Multiple sources used the word "sociopathic" without being prompted and without talking to each other. The article also drops a line that might be the best summary of the whole thing. They compare Sam to Steve Jobs and his famous "reality distortion field" then point out that even Jobs never told his customers that if they didn't buy his MP3 player, everyone they loved would die. Sam wrapped that exact pitch in the language of AI safety and rode it to a potential $1T IPO. That IPO is being prepared right now, while OpenAI signs government contracts spanning immigration enforcement, domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons deployed in active war zones. Meanwhile, The Information reports that his own CFO told colleagues she doesn't believe the company is ready to go public in 2026. Farrow is answering questions on Hacker News right now. The full piece is open access. Read it before Sam figures out how to make this disappear too

Uhuru Kenyatta misjudged the monster he was grooming. He never imagined that his own deputy could secretly convene security meetings behind his back, orchestrate chaos, and sign off on political assassinations. But that’s exactly what Ruto did. Chris Msando, the man who promised to safeguard the credibility of the 2017 General Election, was marked for death. His only crime? Integrity. He refused to play dirty. And for that, he was hunted like an animal. His elimination was a high-level operation meant to pave way for a stolen presidency, and Ruto was smack in the middle of it. Let’s not forget Moses Kuria, the loudmouth who always shows up with too much knowledge and zero caution. He was the first to "discover" Msando’s car as if by magic trying to throw off the public with a staged scene. A walking decoy. A reckless man with bloodied fingerprints on Kenya’s darkest pages. And now? He’s at it again trying to stir up another crucifixion. But hear this loud and clear: we are not the blind mob that crucified Jesus we are the awakened generation that will crucify Barabbas, because his hands drip with innocent blood. And William Ruto? Don’t be fooled. This man is no saint. He is a master manipulator, a dealer in deception, and a merchant of death whose favorite currency is blood money. He doesn’t lead he bribes, blackmails, and bulldozes. He doesn’t build he destroys, corrupts, and conquers. The truth is bitter. But silence is betrayal. Ruto killed Chris Msando.
