Probably because music is built on rhythmic patterns, which creates chemical releases in the brain. Remember, the brain is hardwired to gravitate toward patterns and familiarity. Repetition in music (tempos, choruses, etc) evoke feelings of familiarity. Hope that explains it!

For thousands of years humans attributed to the unknown to gods. Just because we don't know how something works does not mean we should immediately attribute it to god.
