Over 90% of shrimp in the US is imported and farmed (gross). Our shrimp are different - no added chemicals, no preservatives, just pure, delicious, Louisiana shrimp. Wild caught and delivered to your door, these ain't your grocery store's shrimp!

Hold on. I normally support this but you are way off on this one. The coloring used is Astaxanthin, which is such a great compound that arguably most people should be supplementing it. The coloring is straight up healthy. It is NOT a "dye" or anything weird.

Just this past weekend a guy behind the counter was trying to convince my as to why Atlantic farmed was better (partly due to traceability). I wasn't convinced.

Lots to hate about farmed salmon. EXCEPT the added colour. What they add is natural astaxanthin: what wild long distance swimming salmon elaborate in their own bodies from a diet of plankton & where that colour starts in the marine food chain. So that addition actually mitigates some of the other farming issues.

The determination of the salmon to get back into the river, despite the odds, highlights the resilience of this species. Salmon only need half a chance, and we are not giving them that. The River Mulkear forms part of the Lower River Shannon SAC. Both Otter and Atlantic salmon are Qualifying Interests of this Natura 2000 site. "It's showing us over and over again that when you remove the farms, the fish do better." This year’s strong wild salmon return is restoring hope for First Nations in the region. It's time to transition all ocean-polluting Atlantic salmon farms out of BC waters to protect wild Pacific salmon for future generations.

“Farmed salmon is the MOST TOXIC food in the world” What do you expect when it’s treated like garbage? • Antibiotics are dumped to kill sea lice ⚠️ • They’re packed like sardines 🎏 • Waste is poorly managed 🗑️ It gets worse when you look at what they’re being fed — it’s garbage. Farmed salmon feed is made from fatty industrial fish scrap that can’t be sold anywhere else. And imagine this. They’re so afraid of the fat turning rancid that they add ethoxyquin — a compound made in 1959 to be used as pesticide. And yes, it makes it’s way into the salmon itself. 300g of atlantic salmon contributes 15% of the "accepted daily intake", whatever that means. Ethoxyquin has been linked with liver & kidney damage. If you can’t get access to wild salmon, there’s really no reason to consume farmed. There are better meat sources out there. Wild salmon leaves you feeling energized. You absorb its vril; the agility & strength of the voyager. With farmed salmon? All you’re ingesting are toxins and pesticide. It’s a disgrace what we’ve done to them. It’s almost like we’ve transformed them into a whole different species. De-evolution 📉
