Great animation 👍🏻 Atrial Flutter (AFL) and Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) are arrhythmias originating in the atria, but as seen here they differ in rhythm and mechanism. AFL is characterized by a regular rhythm with a sawtooth pattern on ECG, caused by a reentrant circuit, often resulting in atrial rates of 250–350 bpm and regular ventricular responses. AFib, on the other hand, involves chaotic electrical activity with an irregularly irregular rhythm, no distinct P-waves, and atrial rates of 350–600 bpm. Both increase the risk of stroke and require anticoagulation based on CHA₂DS₂-VASc scores, but AFL is more amenable to curative catheter ablation, whereas AFib often needs long-term rate or rhythm control with medications or ablation.

irregularity is the queen of rap, so does AF Bow down
