🚨 ATTACKED INSIDE THE LOON-PLAGE MIGRANT CAMP 🚨 While walking through the camp during this morning’s eviction, simply carrying a small action camera, I was confronted and physically attacked. I wasn’t harmed, but I was forced to defend myself. Think about that. A camera was enough to trigger violence.... This is exactly why independent footage from places like Loon-Plage matters. Peter Thiel’s advice to his younger self: "Value substance over status.” One of the resolutions I came up with a number of years ago was to always value substance over status, substance over prestige. And if I was giving my younger self advice on what to do or how to think about one's life, I probably would still go to Stanford, might still go to law school. But I'd ask a lot more questions: why I was doing these things? Too much of it was driven by prestige and status, and not quite enough about really the substance of trying to learn things. I sort of think of it as this sort of crazy rolling quarter life crisis, and a sort of culmination in this big New York law firm where from the outside everybody wanted to get in, from the inside everybody wanted to get out. I lasted seven months and three days. And when I left, one of the people down the hall said, it's so reassuring to see you leave, Peter. I had no idea it was possible to escape from Alcatraz. And all you had to do was go through the front door. But people's identities get so wrapped up in the things they compete for that it was inconceivable for people to actually do that. And then the question was, how had I ended up there? Why had I not thought about that more? Children are crying from hunger, in a tragic situation lived by this family inside a tent lacking the most basic necessities of life. This is the reality for most families in the camp. Roaa, the owner of this video, recounts: What happened was that I was walking in this camp, taking pictures of the children as usual. I noticed this girl crying, and her mother was next to her, trying to calm her down, but the girl couldn't react to me due to hunger. Her mother told me they hadn't eaten for two days, and soon her children started crying as well. I turned on the camera and started filming them. There was nothing I could do except ask for help from the camp residents themselves, who mostly get their food from the charity kitchen. I am one of those people. The Al-Samidoon Camp is an informal camp on the shores of Khanyounis, and there is no support from any organization for these people. They don't have a charity kitchen or clean drinking water, and there are no basic living essentials. The youth of this camp formed a team and set up tents in the hope that someone would support them, but unfortunately, nothing has come through. 🦊 i finished wrapping up first my solo recently and as words from people around me started influencing me, it really stressed me out and it really started swaying my identity as a person…i was really burnt out for 3 months 🦊 i used to be someone that told people everything when i was going through a hard time like “i’m going through a tough time right now” but i don’t know when it started, but i couldn’t get myself to tell people around me anymore 👤 i wonder why? was it out of consideration for them? 🦊 that could be why…and i also felt like i needed to learn how to overcome things myself 🦊 i didn’t say anything to anyone and was going through it myself…then i thought about namjoon hyung so i went to him and asked him a lot of questions and one of the things he said to me was that he hopes i face the things that make me uncomfortable 🦊 i had conflicts with soobin and we had awkward phases but i wanted to erase all of these things one by one and i feel like there were also a lot of things that i had been misunderstanding, coming to think of it now…so i went up to soobin first and said “hey, let’s go get a drink”

The moment that drew my attention to Freen was when you went to Cannes and there was a photo of your in a red dress which got tenth of thousands of likes—I was like, who’s this? I want to ask how you view Cannes before and after you went there. When I found out that I will be there, I felt it was such a grand event. Never imagined… like me? ME? Who am I to get to go there? And when I was there… it was really grand. And the photo time was so long that I thought…. Are we done? Didn’t know what to pose already. Was very nervous inside but had to act confident. Come…. Take photos… but inside, scan around…. How many? How long is the camera wall😅 It’s a good moment in life. Saw Queen Chompoo went so many years and looked so grand every time. I was one who was excited to see what she will wear. So when it was me, I was excited. And when was there, was a bit pressured—what dress and accessories to wear. I had to do a lot of homework. I was a bit surprised with myself. They have dresses for me to choose from. Had to pick what fitted me. But when I liked the red design… but it was red, which I have to wear to a red carpet… I was like… what to do… and decided to go for it. I’ll go with it. Not sure how red on red will be but went with it. MC: for me it was a good choice. I felt. This kid is brave. You could handle it and made it seem effortless/ not stressed. Felt you weren’t stressed out by the red carpet. I thought you handled it well. Thank you so much. It was my first time. I was really scared. The necklace. I’ll tell you about was the first time in my life that I went to choose it all by myself. Had to pick accessories worth many tenth of millions alone. Had to go through 3-4 doors with massive guards and there was one guard with me. They went do you like this, no? Next. No? Next. Was not able to put on the dress and tried… had to imagined it. I think that room had accessories worth tenths of billions. All could do was put it against my neck and imagined it with the dress I picked. Was difficult but I think I got a perfect total look. MC: I’m also interested to know which part you like the most about Cannes aside from the red carpet. There were so many eventful stuff. First I missed my flight! Instead of two stops/transfer I had to take four or five. …. …. Anyway that’s fine. My team was good and professional—the manager, makeup, hair. We had to deal with the situation but got through it while still had good humor about it. MC: what thought about hotel Martinez iconic stairs. Met so many people/celebrities. It was like a check in spot for everyone. After you finished getting ready, had to take photos there. It was another memorable moment. Not everyone can be there. Overall, glad I experienced getting ready there and went to the red carpet.

👤 after hearing all this, i feel like i do understand why soobin cried 🐰 exactly, it was a touching day 🦊 i used to be someone that had to work out things immediately too but from some point, i became an avoidant person and i think it was especially more towards my members 🦊 i pensively thought a lot about why that was the case like “what in the world is actually my problem?” 🦊 the expectations the company had from me and something people had always said to me since i was a trainee is “you need to be good” or “you need to do well” and hearing things like this…i’m someone who always wanted to be perfect, even in the way i presented myself…to be honest, the members can conflict with each other and talking about it is a very natural thing to do but i felt like i had to hide all this and since i’m older, i didn’t want to act like i was upset either so i just pretended like everything was okay…and doing this, i think i ended up hiding all my emotions at some point and avoiding all the members like “let me endure this and lead the way” so i think that as i constantly kept letting these things add, (my emotions) just exploded as i was doing my solo work

This part breaks and heals my heart at the same time 💔Mingi’s words are full of wisdom, as always🥺 🐥 I was full of arrogance in the beginning, but after I made my debut, I felt so small. From then on, I lost a lot of my mental strength. As soon as I made my debut, I thought I was the best and I thought I was in first place. That’s why those aspirations, that tenacity, and that something about me - my self-worth - was so high. But after that, it was destroyed in an instant. 🐥 I lost a lot of my self-worth, and I started to feel like I was worth nothing. I started to doubt if there was any reason for me to be in this group. When I feel that kind of self-disgust, I think it’s important how I overcome those thoughts. In my early days of my debut, I think I only had a pretty packaging on me. I used to think, ‘I’m doing well, what more can I do?’ But after that pretty packaging came off, I had nothing inside. So I think it took me a long time to fill myself up. Now, even if I break down once in a while, I just go back to the human Song Mingi, and I look for the things I like one by one, and then I think, ‘People will like me a bit now, right?’ Since we’re celebrities, we need to satisfy the people to a certain degree. But I think we still have to satisfy ourselves in the process as well. I think I try to find a harmony between the two in my head. 🐥 It took me a long time to build this up, but I think the process of building myself up, unlike building a sand castle, you build it up little by little. So I feel like, internally, I have become more resilient, compare to before.

From then on, I lost a lot of my mental strength. As soon as I made my debut, I thought I was the best and I thought I was in first place. That’s why those aspirations, that tenacity, and that something about me - my self-worth - was so high. But after that, it was destroyed in an instant. 🐥 I lost a lot of my self-worth, and I started to feel like I was worth nothing. I started to doubt if there was any reason for me to be in this group. When I feel that kind of self-disgust, I think it’s important how I overcome those thoughts. In my early days of my debut, I think I only had a pretty packaging on me. I used to think, ‘I’m doing well, what more can I do?’ But after that pretty packaging came off, I had nothing inside. So I think it took me a long time to fill myself up. Now, even if I break down once in a while, I just go back to the human Song Mingi, and I look for the things I like one by one, and then I think, ‘People will like me a bit now, right?’ Since we’re celebrities, we need to satisfy the people to a certain degree. But I think we still have to satisfy ourselves in the process as well. I think I try to find a harmony between the two in my head. 🐥 It took me a long time to build this up, but I think the process of building myself up, unlike building a sand castle, you build it up little by little. So I feel like, internally, I have become more resilient, compare to before.

Obviously, the media want to recycle and print the same lies as a few years back, and people are believing it. All charges were dropped in this incident as I was the one who was attacked by 2 drunk women and tried to get away on three separate occasions. Over ten years ago, even though the police saw the CCTV, I was still charged with punching, kicking, and pulling a girl’s hair, but this is the CCTV footage from when I was attacked, and thankfully, when the judge watched it, all the charges were dropped as they were the aggressor, as I was the one trying to get away from the situation on three separate occasions, and I even had to run away at the end. The only time I lifted my hands was to defend myself from being hit, and if there was no CCTV, I would have got sent to prison. I was told a couple of months ago they were planning to drag my name through the mud so they can try their best as you can now see what the media machine is trying to do. The point of this story is don’t always believe what you read or see on the news. #mcloving

This video will forever mean so much to me. When I was flying to Zanzibar to shoot it, that same week I found out I was pregnant. I was overwhelmed with so many emotions, but I had to keep it all in, smile, show up, and make sure no one noticed. I had a job to do. I remember having quiet conversations with myself, trying to process everything while still pushing through the shoot. I was there physically, but mentally, I was somewhere else.
