The Fukushima plant was exposed to a 9.0 earthquake and survived. It was inadequate seawalls that led to the failure following the tsunami. A 9.0 earthquake is a 1:800 year event, and certainly would not occur near our coastline.

Good luck trying to get more of Australia’s uranium Narendra Modi. Last time India requested Australia’s uranium, Albanese opposed then PM Gillard and spoke against exporting. In 2007, he said on a uranium mining motion “the light on the hill is not the glow of radiation from a nuclear waste dump”. And in the recent nuclear fear campaign he posted that scenic Aussie locations were “under threat” from nuclear power plants. Hopefully our Prime Minister wakes up to the fact Australia is one of the only advanced economies not investing in nuclear soon…

The sheer arrogance of the United States in forbidding other sovereign countries from having nuclear weapons is truly stunning. If Iran already had nuclear weapons, the United States and Israel would never have attacked it, and there would be no war. Having nuclear weapons is the only real deterrent to keep countries like Israel and the United States off your back.

Today the German government is finally admitting he was right Chancellor Friedrich Merz has officially labeled the decision to shut down Germany’s nuclear plants a 'huge mistake,' confessing that the move has crippled the economy and left the country with the most expensive energy transition in the world (What Elon warned 3 years ago:) I think it's very important that Germany not shut down its nuclear power stations? I think this is extremely crazy I want to be super clear. My opinion is Germany should not only not shut down the nuclear power plants, it should reopen the ones that shut down. Those are the fastest ones to restart. It's crazy to shut down nuclear power plants Especially if you're in a place where there are no natural disasters. The amount of steel that goes into the foundations of a nuclear power plant is next level. 🔊 It is expensive to build, but consider what you get in return. A source of energy that produces hundreds (or thousands) of megawatts of electricity up to 70-80 years or so. It does not directly pollute or contaminate the air. The 70-80 year remark is based on OL1 & OL2 nuclear reactors in Finland. Commercial production started in 1978 and the current permit allows the plants to operate until year 2050. If you don't build the nuclear power plants, then you have to build lots of coal, natural gas or other baseload forms of energy. Nuclear is by far the best option.
