These planes create detailed maps and videos that provide vital information about fire activity, threatened structures, and heat sources. This real-time data is essential for our advanced 3D mapping process and helps us fight wildfires smarter and safer by giving Incident Commanders on the ground real-time intelligence. In 2024 the CAL FIRE Intel Remote Sensing Program supported more than 100 incidents and provided over 600 intelligence products.
