I built this using the vibx API I will adding the ability to use your own custom voices very soon if you are subscribed. We are building @yapthread to test features before adding them into the main app. Which will soon send you daily digests of your voice notes and bookmarks in podcast format, but we are trying to get the technology and prompting right first. What it actually does: you speak, it transcribes, removes filler words, and polishes the result before dropping clean text into whatever app you are using. afaik i'm the only one with an actually smart TV here's a demo of full computer use with just a remote, sitting on a couch. i can even get work done while chasing a toddler lmao reply below if you want to be a beta tester & i'll send you the download (mac only) - everything runs locally, no cloud AI. uses 4gb of gpu memory - mic is on the remote, so you can whisper into it, or use in crowded/loud environments - transcribes text directly or runs keyboard shortcuts / applescript if it sounds like an action command "i.e. close this page" - 600ms response time on my m3 max (transcription + LLM tool calls) - continuous transcription previews available. can be auto-turned off on battery to conserve battery - no apple tv remote required, you can also use your phone as the remote (screenshot below) even for direct transcription, it's quite a different experience than regular transcription software because you don't need to be close to your computer mic or your keyboard. you can be pacing around, which i love doing when writing long prompts also... the apple siri remote is a beautiful piece of hardware and has apple-quality trackpad. it's kind of a must for a good remote

DoorDash started as a $9 website with PDF menus and a Google Voice number. "We shipped — that alias was available for $9, and that's why we got it. It was a static page where you saw eight PDF menus of restaurants we frequented in Palo Alto. The only way you could order is you'd read through the menus, call a Google Voice number that would ring the cell phones of the four founders, and one of us would pick up, take your order, place the order on your behalf, go get the order, and deliver it to you. One of the easiest wins with an AI agent right now is letting it sign up for your own mobile app on a real phone. There's a repo called Phone Harness that connects Codex or Claude Code to an actual iPhone or Android. The agent sees the screen and can tap, type, scroll, open apps, and verify what happened. Here's the whole setup: 1) Connect the phone. iPhone goes through Mac iPhone mirroring, Android goes through ADB over USB or wireless. 2) You don't have to jailbreak anything, you don't need Xcode, and you don't need a special app on the phone. 3) Paste the setup prompt from the repo into Codex or Claude Code: clone the GitHub, read the install.md, put phone harness on your path, register it as an agent skill, then read onboarding.md and walk me through setup. 4) Run phone-harness 5) Give it the first job: open the app, create an account, tap through onboarding, try checkout, take screenshots, and tell me where it gets confusing or breaks. 6) Then point it at the mobile apps that have no API at all. Every mobile team should be running that signup test constantly. Most don't, because it's tedious, or they don't want to hire that person, or the person makes mistakes anyway. Evan Spiegel on the lesson that killed his first startup and led to Snapchat: "We focused on building the perfect product for way too long before we got feedback. We worked for like eighteen months to build this perfect full-featured product, which was in direct contravention to how I was always taught to build things. Build a prototype, build an MVP, get it in front of people, learn as quickly as possible. But we had spent all this time building this perfect piece of software and we hadn't thought enough about distribution. While we built this great piece of software, our competitor at the time, Naviance, had secured distribution through all the different college counselors. What piece of software are you going to choose to help your kid get into college? The one recommended by the college counselors or the one from two kids at Stanford? I think it's a pretty easy choice. So we saw very early that we had no distribution advantage. Even if we loved our software, people weren't going to use it because we didn't have a scalable way to get it in people's hands. Around that time when we saw the emergence of the App Store on iPhone, it was very clear that was a distribution channel we could really use and benefit from. But we also needed to build things we could build quickly, things we really were going to use together with our friends so we could be the first early customers. Ultimately Peekaboo and Snapchat represented that." This is exactly the asymmetry Peter Thiel describes in Zero to One: superior distribution by itself can create a monopoly, even with no product differentiation. The converse is not true. Thiel puts an even finer point on it: most businesses get zero distribution channels to work. Poor sales rather than bad product is the most common cause of failure. If you can get just one distribution channel to work, you have a great business. Estée Lauder said: it's not enough to have the most wonderful product in the world. You must be able to sell it. Many founders over-index on product perfection and under-invest in distribution. The world is full of great products nobody knows about, and mediocre products with massive distribution that dominate markets. Evan Spiegel lived it.
