First, he is not a Shankaracharya, neither legally nor by conduct. He grabbed that sacred seat through tricks, not through tradition or consensus. Second, he is not even a saint. His language and tone are the biggest proof of that. Third, he cannot even be called a neutral spiritual guru. You will always see him on TV debates and political programs, but rarely, if ever, in genuine religious activities. The funniest part is that he is openly supporting Akhilesh Yadav, the same person under whose tenure he was beaten like a criminal. That alone says a lot about his character and political opportunism. And if anyone thinks this is only because of the Magh Snan issue, just google his earlier statements. Please don't vote for BJP because this man's anguish is real, this man's helplessness is real, and that many in this country already think that he deserves the pain that he's feeling. There are many reasons not to vote for BJP, including their crony capitalism, their washing machine, electoral bonds, etc, but the foremost reason not to vote for them is because their politics is making us a country that is devoid of love and empathy for a fellow being.
