❌ Avoid fetching data in useEffect ✅ Instead use libraries like react-query that have a strong built-in mechanism for data fetching.

❌ Avoid resetting state when prop changes in an effect. ✅ Instead, use the key prop to tell react what makes the component reset its state.

🧪 React testing tip: Avoid performing side effects in waitFor. Instead put side effects outside waitFor callbacks and use the callback for assertions only.

I made an extension for using Claude Code, Codex CLI, Copilot in the browser. Select elements and send them to the agent. Works in: ✅ Next.js ✅ React (Vite) ✅ TanStack Start ✅ Vue ✅ Astro ✅ Plain HTML ✅ Any other framework (.NET, Ruby, etc.) Here's how it works...

notice how he purposely starts playing the drums loudly when she’s in the kitchen using a knife causing her to lose focus and cut herself and she doesn’t even react loudly because he probably does this stuff all the time and blames her instead

Using the id modifier on subviews throws a wrench into List's optimization. Instead of just rendering what's visible, it forces all subviews to load instantly. To avoid this, build data sources that align with the Identifiable protocol.

⚛️ A common useEffect mistake I often see people make: ❌ Don't put event's logic in useEffect. ✅ Instead put it right in the event handler ↓

Curious your thoughts on this one. FSD did not react at all to vehicles squealing their tires and swerving out of the way. This is a pinch point in the highway where two lanes merge. I mashed the brakes to avoid being involved in the mess, which allowed another driver to use my spot to avoid a potential rear ending. I saw folks slamming the brakes far earlier than I pressed the brakes and waited for FSD to react. It did not.
