This is one of my favorite iPhone hacks and works surprisingly well! Let me share all the steps here so you exactly know how to do this too: 1. Open Settings → Accessibility. 2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Accessibility Shortcut. 3. Select VoiceOver (make sure it has a ✓ next to it). → This lets you triple-click the side button to quickly toggle VoiceOver on or off. 4. Open the Camera app and swipe to Video mode. 5. Triple-click the side button to turn on VoiceOver. (You'll hear VoiceOver speak when it's active.) 6. When ready, double-tap the Record button to start recording. (VoiceOver will say "Recording.") 7. Triple tap the display with three fingers. → The screen goes black, but your iPhone keeps recording in the background. 8. 🧵 So yeah the reason why is because I kinda did this thing with my phone. It measured the decibels we made during crucial parts of the Stanford D2. I mean we’re in Stanford after all where the smartest minds in the world are so… you know SCIENCE 🙃⚗️🧬🥼🔬 So this was at exactly when the boys hit the stage. The big dynamic number on L is the dB meter measuring in RT. The numbers on R are as shown Average, Minimum, Max and Peak dBs picked up by the meter before and during this video (FYI once the app is on it runs in the background even without video recording. Note the duration under the dB counter: the app was already measuring before I hit record📹). Also as you can see it’s not only my voice it’s measuring as you can see the counter jump up even when I pause from screaming my head off As you can see, we peaked at 127.4 dBs as soon as BTS hit the stage with HOOLIGAN

$The comet tail is noticeably longer each day. Pause the video at about 15 seconds . . . you can see the tail of the comet looks like it is bending. The atmosphere is more dense the closer you get to earth. Changes in the density of the atmosphere change the refractive index and thus make the comet tail appear bent. I was in my crew quarters reviewing the imagery when I first saw the bend in the comet’s tail. I did not see it real time when taking the images. I yelled out the door to Don Pettit to check it out but he was already off to take more images of the comet with an IR camera . . . look forward to those. Video is a timelapse played at 8 frames per second. Images were taken with a 1/8 sec exposure with about 5ms in between shots so this timelapse should be about the same speed as we see it out the window. Canadarm2 is in the near field, upper left, and out of focus. 200mm, 1/8s, ISO 5000$

Humans still kick most of it off, but the models are already training the next models, and each version builds a better version faster than the last. We know what happens when something gets an advantage and the substrate is there... it proliferates incredibly fast. Soon it just runs the whole process itself. People are still debating whether AI takes your job. That's not the question. You can't compete with this intelligence at all. Next to it the human is negative value, the slowest one in the room. And this is the slowest it will ever move again. It's about to run on its own, faster than we can conceive of, and nobody's prepared for that. Wonderful conversation as ever with Emad.

yunjin talks about how to deal with feeling mentally drained - she genuinely has the healthiest mindset. 🐶 when my mental state crumbles i think i start by moving my body but before that, when you're breaking down it's okay to just let it happen completely i think you need to fully feel it to move on to the next step. if you're struggling but you keep ignoring it and trying to bury it that's not true recovery. so when you break down i think accepting that state comes first. after that, move your body go out for a walk, see the world and once you see the outside world, you realize it might not be the end like you thought because it's never as serious as you think it is and there's always a reason to live on. there's always a reason.
