Their belongings are being stored at a community centre, which is now also being used as a shelter. Some of the evacuees are staying with friends and relatives. Underground water surfaces when the water table rises above normal levels after periods of prolonged, heavy rain. The phenomenon last happened in Content in 2005 following hurricanes Dennis and Emily. However, councillor for the Bellefield Division in Manchester, Mario Mitchell says it's worse this time round with the water now covering parts of the main road. It's expected that vehicular access will soon be restricted until the water recedes. The rising water episode first happened in Content 1977, claiming two lives.

We have piloted a high-impact cool roof intervention in Chennai at the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kizh Ambattur, in collaboration with the UNEP Cool Coalition. A 3,206 sq. m roof area across six academic blocks has been coated with high solar-reflective paint (SRI 101). Early results are promising as roof surface temperatures have dropped by over 5°C, with indoor temperatures expected to fall by 1.5°C–3°C, directly improving comfort and learning for students. The intervention is projected to provide 15–20% more thermal comfort hours and over 10% energy savings, while also helping to reduce the urban heat-island effect. These water trucks are heading from Russia's Rostov toward Ukraine. Due to Russian occupation, Donetsk region has been left without water. The region is currently suffering from extreme heat, and water is almost entirely unavailable. Both drinking and technical water now has to be delivered to more than 1.2 million residents of Donetsk and Makiivka, as well as to half a million people in other towns and cities. There is also a shortage of water for Russian soldiers from the "Center" and "East" military groupings. The hopelessness of the situation is not that there is no way to deliver water - because of leaky pipes, destroyed water intakes, and pumping stations. The real disaster is that the water itself has physically run out. In the Donetsk coal basin, nearly all mines have been flooded during the occupation. As long as the mines were operating or kept in dry conservation, water was regularly pumped out. But after Russian forces occupied the city in 2014, they first sold all the equipment from these mines for scrap metal, and then simply flooded everything. Flooding the mines means stopping the pumping of water from them - disrupted water horizons, underground rivers, etc. do their job. The tragedy is that once a mine fills up, its contents mix with these groundwater horizons. The resulting excess pressure forces this mine water to rise to the surface, creating huge rust-colored swamps - that's iron oxide. As a result, all water horizons in Donbas are now unfit for any use. This is a massive environmental catastrophe that no one is talking about.
