AZ Chike chose a photo of his late grandmother for the cover art of his new album ‘No Rest For the Wicked’ because, as he puts it, “She was my best friend.” In a new interview with P&P’s Tommy Chill, CHIZZLE 💎 explains how he watched his grandmother suffer through cancer treatments and “a lot of wickedness” while he was young, as his mother cared after her. Chike says one of the biggest challenges while making NO REST FOR THE WICKED was learning to carry a single idea throughout an entire record. He also revealed Kendrick repeatedly pushed him outside his comfort zone by having him sing and develop melodies, something Chike had largely avoided throughout his career! “Dot was really on me about, ‘You got to master the melodies.
