#b3d Compositor nodes. How long has the displace node been there? Never noticed :D but you can use a normal map to do camera lens rain!

you can see there's: - a crosshatch triplanar normal map on the mesh - a solidify modifier with a second material for the shell - shell has flipped normals + pure black + noise in alpha - compositing is noise on position + displace nodes..

📚 While it's hot, did you know you can use the Blend Normals by Proximity asset (in Bforartists) to also potentially blend shaders? I really think the Set Mesh Normal node in Geometry Nodes is.. a "normal" revolution!

#b3d tip: To keep complex node trees organised, you can use Node Groups. They reduce part of a node tree to a single node, which you can enter/exit by pressing TAB. You can also create inputs, so that you can control values inside the Node Group without having to open it.

You can use a "Dispersion Lens" in front of your camera in Shaders Plus, to create realistic, physical, in-camera Chromatic Aberrations! :D Fun fact, before the caustics were added, "Shaders Plus" was originally just going to be a dispersion shader! 🤪 #b3d #blender3d #blender
