They seem so "smooth" and integrated in the wing, one has to pay attention to see them - B-787 Dreamliner setting slats and flaps for takeoff. 📹 Aviation Gallery

In 2013, a wet-leased TUI Netherlands Boeing 737-300 bound for Turkey began its takeoff roll with its flaps still retracted. Around the time the takeoff configuration warning would have been sounding, the captain extended the flaps a clear violation of safety protocols. 📹: nick’s flying adventures

The Boeing 777 was the first Boeing commercial airliner to feature a full digital fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control system. Powering this 777-300ER are the GE90 engines—the world's most powerful commercial jet engines. Each engine has a fan diameter so large that it is wider than the fuselage of a Boeing 737. After engine start, the hydraulic systems come to life, and the flight crew performs the flight control surfaces check. You can see the rudder, elevators, slats, and flaps moving before being configured for takeoff. Once both engines are running and supplying electrical and pneumatic power, the APU is shut down, causing the APU air intake door to close. B777-300ER (5Y-KZX) KQ100 Nairobi to London 8½ hrs.

HIGH-SPEED RTO: LATAM B777-300ER ABORTS AFTER ROTATION AT GUARULHOS A Boeing 777-300ER (reg. PT-MUH) operating for LATAM Airlines rejected takeoff on runway 10L at São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport after accelerating to approximately 178 knots (330 km/h). Preliminary data indicates the aircraft had already passed V1 and reached VR, with the nose gear lifted, when the crew initiated the rejected takeoff. The jet decelerated aggressively and stopped on the runway. The aircraft remained immobilized for about 15 hours after multiple main landing gear tires deflated. The reason for the rejected takeoff has not yet been disclosed. 1st video: Aviação Guarulhos JPD (YouTube)
