It was a courtesy to go back and show her the dress. The customer didn’t need to go back to prove her innocence. It’s on the store owner to prove her guilt, if the store owner truly believed the customer stole the dress. Good on the customer for doing it, but shame on the owner.

So they accused her of stealing without even checking to see if it was left in the dressing room?! Just about everyone does that! I hope little ms manager faces consequences.

That is the perfect example of profiling right there. They were probably suspicious of her before she even went in the dressing room so when she came out without a dress they assumed it *had* to be stolen.

Here's what I don't understand. I worked mall jobs a lot in my younger days. If you think someone has shoplifted, you call mall security and have them take care of it. Why did she go running after them herself? Did she leave the store unattended?

She's just looking for an excuse to harass and humiliate her because she has a darker skin tone than her . This is how she gets her kicks. Definitely a MAGA.

This is what ladies do all the time. We take some choices into the dressing room. Try things on. Leave the ones behind in the dressing room if we don’t want them. I’ve been doing it since I’ve been buying dresses for myself at 17.
