We’re having a very cold and unusual spring here in Ukraine. Today there are storms, strong winds, and even snow in some cities. In Kharkiv, the bad weather has caused a power outage. How’s the weather where you are, friends?

Sadly I have received another report of more damage in Cork from the thunderstorms that hit Sunday night along with a downburst wind. This home and neighboring property in Unionhall Cork were badly damaged. A weather station in Ringaskiddy did record a sudden and dramatic wind gust.

Wondering where the rain has emigrated to? The answer is nearer than you may think! Thunderstorms with frequent lightning have been affecting parts of France and central Europe today. High pressure will continue to block these from moving into the UK though ⛈️

Well that was a very warm night after intense thunderstorms in the Northwest and we have more thunderstorms today with some lightning in the Southwest already this morning. Showers continuing to develop and move North, up to 27c again today but varying a lot. Showery and cooler weather arrives for Saturday. The animation shows the lightning detected since yesterday afternoon.

Heavy showers are developing across northern England. Though small and fast-moving, they are expected to intensify into thunderstorms over the next few hours ⛈️ Some areas may see 10–15 mm in an hour. Large hail, strong gusts, and frequent lightning are also possible
