Strong legs are the foundations of a stable posture, yet many let theirs weaken over time. You lose your ability to move and stand upright. Much of my work with chronic pain clients involves strengthening the legs. This video shows 8 essential lower body motions: 1- Hip Extensions Standing upright involves straightening your torso to align it with your lower body, an extension of your hips executed by your Glutes and Hamstrings. The problem is you sit on these muscles all day, weakening them over the years to the point where they fail to do their job. Your lower back picks up the slack against its will and becomes overworked. I'll start chronic pain clients with Hip Bridges on the floor to ensure everything is balanced, then progress to Hip Thrusts and eventually Standing exercises like the Romanian Deadlift. As for the Deadlift off the floor, those are great if you can access a barbell or kettlebell. - Hip Bridge (0:05) - Hip Thrust (0:11) - Romanian Deadlift (0:17) - Deadlift (0:23) 2- Split Squats Split Squats are excellent for strengthening the knees. In the case of a chronic pain client, I use them to stretch the quad and Hip Flexors of the back leg, which are often extremely stiff due to sitting. This stiffness makes the body collapse forward and is often the limiting factor when people try this exercise for the first time. I'll start someone with the Front Foot elevated because it's easier on the front leg and gives a great stretch, then progress to flat and rear foot elevated. - Front foot elevated (0:30) - Flat (0:36) - Rear-foot elevated (0:42.2) 3- Lunges Lunges are the dynamic version of the Split Squat. Besides being excellent for strengthening your leg muscles, the one thing I love about this exercise is that it teaches you how to brace yourself as your foot lands. Many people lack the core strength to absorb an impact. Lunges develop that shock absorption capacity, especially when done with weights. Ensure you have mastered the Split Squats before doing them, and use different directions to target your muscles differently. - Forward (0:48) - Back (0:54.7) - Side (1:07) 4- Squats The king of all exercises is crucial for your ascension. The vertical motion improves your ability to overcome the world's weight crashing down upon you. It's also an amazing Glute and Quad stretch in the bottom position. I'll start chronic pain clients with the bodyweight variation before progressing them to weighted and eventually one-legged, also known as Pistol Squats. Doing one leg at a time is one of the best ways to balance your body's left and right sides from head to toe. - Body weight (1:12.5) - Loaded (1:19) - Pistol (1:25.5) 5- Step-ups Step-ups are amongst my favorite one-sided exercises to strengthen the Glutes and Quads. They are excellent for improving the stability of your hips and abdominal muscles. Use the Front and Lateral variations to maximize your results. - Front (1:31.5) - Lateral (1:38) 6 - Leg Curls Leg Curls strengthen the lower attachment of your Hamstrings. They are an integral part of my knee and lower back recovery programs because many people are weak due to sitting. I'll have chronic pain clients use a towel to create muscle resistance, though you can do them standing to get some much-needed blood flow. The best way to benefit from this exercise is by using an exercise ball or a machine at the gym. - Standing (1:43) - Towel (1:49) - Exercise ball (1:55.4) - Machine (2:02.1) 7- Adductions The inner thigh muscles become problematic when people sit with their legs crossed. They either get stiff or weak depending on whether you cross one leg over the other or with your foot on the opposite knee. I love Copenhagen Planks to restore the balance in your adductors. - Knee-bent (2:08.8) - Straight-leg (2:14) 8- Calf Raises The ankles are the cornerstone of your posture because they affect the alignment of every other joint above. Strong Calves are essential to their stability, yet many omit them from their workouts. Standing Calf Raises also strengthen the knees from behind. Doing the Donkey variation, you'll feel an intense stretch from the knee to the ankle. Seated Calf Raises work a different lower leg muscle essential to pump blood back up from your feet. - Standing (2:20.5) - Donkey (2:26.6) - Seated (2:33.3) Include these 8 types of motions in your routine as an insurance policy against serious mobility problems down the line. Keeping your legs strong ensures a stable posture and quality movements, two crucial factors for a high quality of life.

The best exercise for the brain you’ve probably never seen. According to Michael J. Lavery’s book “Whole Brain Power”, using a 4-pound sledge hammer to bounce a golf ball up and down dramatically amplifies both your neurological and physical demands Massive Central Nervous System (CNS) Activation The sheer weight of a 4-lb sledge forces the CNS to fire at a much higher intensity. To keep a lively golf ball bouncing on a heavy, rigid piece of steel, your brain has to send incredibly powerful, rapid-fire signals to your muscles. This level of resistance forces maximum motor unit recruitment, teaching your nervous system to fire more efficiently under tension. Elite Grip and Forearm Strength Lavery heavily emphasizes the link between hand/grip strength and brain health, viewing the hands as the direct external extension of the central nervous system. Bouncing a ball requires a loose, reactive wrist to absorb and redirect impact, but holding a 4-lb hammer requires immense isometric grip strength. Managing that weight leverages extreme stress onto the forearms, wrists, and fingers, building dense, functional grip strength that standard lifting rarely touches. Accelerated Neuroplasticity via Forced Focus With a light hammer, you can cheat the movement or rely on casual reflexes. With a 4-lb sledge, there is zero room for error. The high penalty for a missed bounce (the heavy hammer dropping or completely throwing off your rhythm) forces the brain into a state of hyper-vigilance and deep cognitive focus. This intense concentration triggers a higher release of acetylcholine and dopamine, the exact neurotransmitters required to stimulate neuroplasticity and forge new neural pathways. Overcoming Hemispheric Dominance (Ambidexterity) When you transition the 4-lb sledge to your non-dominant hand, the challenge scales exponentially. Because the non-dominant hemisphere of your brain isn't used to managing that much weight combined with fine motor precision, the drill forces rapid communication across the corpus callosum (the bridge connecting the left and right sides of the brain). It quickly exposes and corrects deep-seated muscular and neurological imbalances between your two sides. Cortical Mapping and Joint Stability Holding a heavy weight at the end of a lever arm requires all the stabilizing micro-muscles in your wrist, elbow, and shoulder rotator cuff to fire simultaneously. This builds incredible joint integrity while expanding your brain’s "cortical map"—its internal blueprint of where your body is in space (proprioception). Benefits: - Maximum Central Nervous System Recruitment - Dense Grip and Forearm Strength - Forced Cognitive Focus & Neuroplasticity - Rapid Dual-Hemisphere Brain Activation - Enhanced Proprioception & Joint Integrity - Growth Hormone (GH) and Testosterone - “ Fountain of Youth" Endorphins - Dopamine and Acetylcholine - Insulin Sensitivity and Blood Sugar Regulation

Trump Inauguration: SFJ Declares Khalistan Referendum Voter Registration for Sikhs from Kashmir to Kanyakumari Launches Dedicated Portal At President Trump’s inauguration, Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) issued a bold and unequivocal declaration, launching voter registration for the Khalistan Referendum. This historic initiative enables Sikhs under Indian occupation—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari—to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and confront the oppressive policies of Prime Minister Modi’s regime. Announcing the launch of SFJ General Counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun delivered a powerful message: “20 million Sikhs are trapped under siege in Modi’s India, facing an existential threat to their identity, religion, and freedom. The only solution is an independent Sikh homeland where Sikhs can freely pursue their religious and political aspirations. This referendum is not just a choice—it is a necessity to break free from India’s tyranny.” Speaking at The Liberty Ball, Pannun further declared: “More than a century ago, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed that all peoples have the right to self-determination. Today, Modi’s India stands in direct violation of this principle, waging a systematic campaign to suppress and erase Sikh identity. As the world celebrates President Trump’s leadership as a defender of liberty, we launch this voter registration to challenge India’s brutal occupation with a peaceful, democratic demand for freedom.” Unifying Sikhs Globally for Justice, SFJ’s launch of is a decisive step to unite Sikhs worldwide and mobilize them for this critical cause. This platform empowers Sikhs across India—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari—to register and actively participate in shaping their destiny. The Khalistan Referendum represents a direct challenge to India’s authoritarianism and an unwavering commitment to justice, liberty, and the inalienable rights of the Sikh people.

Best ⚾ Pitcher Mobility Drill A common problem for baseball pitchers is the gradual tightness and loss of ROM in the shoulder over the course of the game and season. The goal is to restore mobility BEFORE your athlete picks up a ball and then maintain it. Try the “2-Out Drill” to warm up your athlete before pitching and to maintain mobility between innings throughout a game. 👇 Here it is: 1️⃣ Static Stretches - you want to start with these and hold each pose for only about 3 seconds. Exercises like the cross-body stretch and wrist flexion. 2️⃣ Rotator Cuff Activation Drills - these will really fire up the rotator cuff and warm it up. Perform 5 circles forward and 5 circles back in both large circles and small circles. 3️⃣ Movement Prep - here you really want to get dynamic, with cross-body hugs, swims, and field goals, about 5 each. 4️⃣ Trunk Rotation - Lastly, we’re going to work on trunk rotation drills This entire drill might take 1-2 minutes but has been shown scientifically to improve ROM and performance over the course of a game. It’s designed to be quick enough to do for pitchers in the dugout when there are two outs and they are getting ready to head back out. Want to work with professional baseball players? Barack Obama on how he handles the stress of the presidency: In his seventh year in office, Obama is asked what he's learned about pacing himself and managing the stress of the job. He credits his temperament first: "I'm lucky to by inclination and temperament be fairly steady." Then his Hawaiian roots. "Good weather... So I don't get too high, don't get too low." But beyond temperament, Obama points to three deliberate habits: Consistent morning exercise, time with family, and most importantly, taking the long view. On family, he says: "When you have dinner with your daughters, particularly teenage daughters, they'll keep you in your place and they'll teach you something about perspective." On the modern news cycle, Obama observes: "We live in such a 24/7 Twitter-fed constant news cycle and everything's a crisis... Everything is doomsday. Everything is, if it doesn't get solved tomorrow, your presidency is going off the rails." He recalls how often that narrative has played out: "There must have been 15, 20 things that over the last 7 years folks have said, 'This is it. It's over.'" Two examples he points to: The Gulf oil spill. "Worst environmental disaster in history. Everybody said, 'He's handling this terribly.' A year later, nobody was talking about it. And in retrospect, it turns out that we handled that as well as any environmental crisis has been handled." Ebola. "That was probably one of the most effective international public health responses in history, and that was led by us. If we hadn't acted, it would still be raging and everybody else would be at risk." These experiences shaped his approach: "My job is to keep my eye on the ball and to stay focused on what can we get done every single day to advance the vision and the values that brought me here... As long as I stay focused on those north stars, then I tend not to get too rattled."

#MMTLP February 2nd, 2024: 479 days ago Dennis Kneale interviewed Rep. Ralph Norman about FINRA's regulatory flup-up, better known as the #MMTLPFiasco. Dennis asks a lot of great questions, like asking the Congressman if he was aware that when shares move into an offshore account, FINRA stops counting them as short, to which Norman replies, "No, I was not." Dennis then mentions question 9 of the open letter, and cites FINRA's claim that they have no authority or data to obtain the information requested (which was a consolidated count of shares held long and short, from all financial institutions, foreign and domestic. While their answer "No" was not quite false it was also not quite true, either. It's a half truth. They DO mention their authority over their member firms but what they fail is to take the initiative and exercise their authority under their own rule 4140 (ironically called "Audit") and have their member firms take steps to get the data. Foreign brokers have American counterparts that have the role of "Custodian" for clearing purposes, so FINRA would have to exercise their authority over the custodian to obtain the data from foreign brokers. There are more steps than getting the data from a domestic broker that is a FINRA member, but it can be done. We live in a digital age where terabytes of information go back and forth every second of every day. The audits could be done in an afternoon. Additionally, Dennis asks Norman that if FINRA and the SEC don't play ball, will Congress subpoena the data to which Norman states that it has to come from a Chairman. "James Comer is the chair of oversight and he signed our letter". "I think we can". Finally, Dennis asks Norman if Congress should hold public hearings on this to which Norman replies, "Absolutely, and we're gonna lead the way on that because at the Financial Services Committee that's our job." July 10th, 2024: 320 days ago and 159 days since the Dennis Kneale interview, Ralph Norman appeared on Dan Ball's show. At this point, we have still not had a hearing or have had subpoenas sent out. We pretty much understood that if we didn't get anywhere by July, we were going to have to wait until the election was over. In this interview, Norman says we've had hearings on it, which isn't really accurate. We were mentioned in two separate hearings by Senator Mike Crapo and Rep Ralph Norman, but to say we have had hearings (pluralized), let alone A hearing on MMTLP is an exaggeration. Norman puts the former CEOs John Brda and George George Palikaras on blast and says "It's in the SEC's hands" but he also says "Were not gonna stop" and "Sooner or later we're gonna get to the bottom of it." I just want Ralph to live up to his word. He has always touted promises made, promises kept in regards to the President living up to his word. Why can't he lead by example, keep his promises to his constituents and those in the #MMTLPARMY that he claims to champion and let's get to the bottom of this once and for all. I want to see subpoenas. I want to see those involved come before the committee, under oath and get grilled. John Brda, George Palikaras, Greg McCabe, for sure. But I also want people like Patricia Casimates, Robert W Cook, Sam Draddy, Yvonne Huber, Jessica Hopper, Chris Stone and any person that was involved in the breaking of FINRA Rule 6490 by changing the language of not just the first corporate action, but the revision two days later. I also want anyone involved with the UPC committee that decided to implement the U3 trading halt. Jeff Mendl, the former VP of OTC markets who went a broadcast and kept saying over and over we will have access up until Monday. He should come before Congress and testify. We are ONE day away from 900 days since the halt. Is this a sick joke, and y'all gonna come to the rescue on day 911? People are sick, people are suffering, and PEOPLE HAVE DIED waiting for some sort of resolution. We're pot committed at this point.
