Last week 4 people were shot while waiting in line to get into a North Baltimore seafood restaurant. This week they've hired armed security to patrol the storefront when they're open. The intersection, Greenmount and Venable Avenue, has been an open air drug market for years so if nothing else the folks dining at the restaurant won't have to make their way through junkies to get in to dine. Related note - possession of mags over 10 rounds in Maryland is legal but transporting them in to the state is not. Jalen Godard (29) burglarized a Verizon store outside of Baltimore and someone stole his truck during the robbery. He called the police to report his truck was stolen and they connected the dots. This was an IQ test and he failed. A 74 year old man was beaten by at least 6 "teens" on July 7th in Baltimore and the police are looking for info on the criminals involved. One of them struck the man multiple times with an AR pistol (I thought those were illegal in Baltimore 🤡) which, of course, didn't have a brace on it. I used to live a couple miles at most from this 7 Eleven which is right near the city's zoo. Bodycam footage from last week's officer involved shooting in Baltimore has been released. Tyrik Braxton drove his vehicle toward officer Samuel Thomas who positioned himself in front of the vehicle whilst issuing a ticket for expired tags. As the driver put the car in drive and began advancing toward the officer, Mr. Thomas performed a 9mm complex ballistics test involving an intermediate barrier and vehicle glass with his Gen5 Glock 47 handgun. The test was ultimately unsuccessful and Mr. Braxton is reportedly recovering from his wounds and will now cost taxpayers millions of dollars. After the shooting, a crowd gathered around the scene (shown at the end of the video) and threw objects at the officers and EMS responders because - it's Baltimore. The neighborhood where this happened is considered a "nicer" neighborhood for Baltimore which means it's now equivalent to a bad neighborhood there from 10 years ago. Of course, it's *virtually* impossible for law abiding citizens to legally carry firearms in Baltimore which always results in videos like this... "He was just getting home Thursday night when he said he was attacked by a group of young people. He had a gun in his face, a scuffle unfolded, and before he knew it, the young people kicked him, and he was knocked out. That’s what happened to 66-year-old Bernie in a neighborhood near Patterson Park in Baltimore City. His left eye is swollen, black and blue, and he has seven stiches near his eyebrow. Bernie didn’t want his last name shared publicly but recalled the horrific attack. In my mind, I knew what was coming next, so I started to run, and they started to chase me. As I was running, I was yelling ‘help, help I’m being robbed.’ He pulled the gun out and he stuck the gun in my face, and I said, ‘what do you want?’ He said, ‘I want everything’, Bernie said. He said there were five suspects who attacked him. Baltimore Police were able to track down and arrest two of them: Montaz Bailey, 18, and an unidentified 15-year-old male. The 15-year-old suspect was taken to the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center “to request a review for detention,” according to BPD, but he was released to a guardian. The 15-year-old and Bailey both have prior arrests, according to BPD.
