FYI this isn't any type of tech this is old school animation. Ground is always flat for bamboo Sword swing is always the same so at same height of bamboo When sword swings the bamboo an animation is played of the bamboo falling.

I played this and Bushido Blade to death as a kid.

it had a custom level maker thing. I would make levels full of bamboo so that i'd constantly be chopping bamboo during duels in a dramatic way

Instantly seeing Tenchu footage on my timeline while scrolling through instantly made my day better. I miss this game so much that I still play Wrath of Heaven off and on, but at least a spiritual successor exists.

Passing an entire Tenchu level using only stealth was achievable only by legendary players.
