@DavidsonAcadBB In HS, it's an out if properly appealed, but in NCAA the player is warned and the bat is removed. If he comes back out with a bat that has pine tar beyond 18 inches, then he would be ejected.

@DavidsonAcadBB That rule needs to be struck down. If you remember the full story of the George Brett pine tar incident, the commissioner of the league eventually ruled in favor of George Brett. In the live ball era, if a bit of pine tar gets on the ball, just get a new one.
