Based take from Dontai. Assassin's Creed 3's ending is a structural train wreck in terms of the Modern Day. Desmond was the soul of the franchise back then, and I can only imagine how disappointing it is for new fans to see such a foundational character get handled that way.

I've only played two Assassin's Creed games in my life, but after Assassin's Creed Shadows I genuinely don't think any of the older titles can give me the same experience. The world is absolutely breathtaking, and the gameplay is on another level. I just can't see it being topped

Ezio’s link to Desmond Miles in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Revelations is one of the most underrated parts of the series imo. It's clear that Ezio is perceptive enough to realize someone beyond his time is witnessing his life through his memories, even if he can’t fully grasp how. And over time, he chooses to live and act with that in mind, shaping his legacy for a future he’ll never see. Minerva's message to Desmond and how everyone discusses it in this room has always fascinated me. It's a lot of fun.

Had a chance to play a few hours of Assassin's Creed Shadows and one of my biggest take aways was how dynamic and alive the environment felt when traveling through it. Visually the game is very impressive.

So I beat Assassin’s Creed Liberation and it’s… a solid attempt at console quality gaming on the go. The disguise system is unique, the modern day story is the best in the franchise, and the third act had good twists. Held back by the character writing and short runtime. 7/10
