DRIPA is the number one issue on people’s minds right across British Columbia. This BC Supreme Court decision in Richmond affects every single property owner in our province. The lack of clear language has created massive uncertainty about what “Aboriginal governance” actually means and what future deals will look like. I am the only candidate on that stage with real, hands-on experience in Aboriginal land issues. I was part of the legal team that took the Musqueam case all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. I’ve lived it. I’ve litigated it. I’ve negotiated these issues in Kelowna, the Shuswap, and across the province. I was called a “conspiracy theorist” in Parliament so I brought the receipts! Yesterday in the BC Legislature the government was asked why the word Provincial is being quietly scrubbed from our park signs. They called it a conspiracy theory and said they were just modernizing with a logo. The truth is in their own manuals. I did the digging and here is what they aren’t telling you. The official BC Writing Guide now labels the term British Columbians as exclusionary. Their new rule is to call yourselves people living in BC. Internal BC Parks documents describe our park system as part of a colonial history. By their logic Provincial is a colonial word that has to go. Go to the BC Parks website and search for the word Provincial. You will get zero results. They are erasing the word before your very eyes. I found the Renaming Checklist they are using to swap out park names. Removing Provincial from the sign is just step one. They are spending $16,000 per sign to remove the name of our province while hiking camping fees by up to $25 per night to pay for it. Don’t let them gaslight you. Federal Indigenous spending tripled from ~$11B in 2015 to over $32B annually by 2025. Since 2014, nearly a quarter of a TRILLION dollars has been spent on Indigenous priorities. $243 Billion. Since the Liberals PAUSED First Nations Financial Transparency Act enforcement in 2015, there have been no penalties for non-disclosure. Some First Nations have never filed or submitted an audit, others haven’t in over a decade. Meanwhile, First Nations life expectancy plummeted. In BC: it dropped 7.1 years (2015-2021), in Alberta, it’s down 7 years since 2015; now 19-year gap vs non-Indigenous. The opioid crisis hit reserves hardest, reversing prior gains. We have tens of billions poured in, accountability paused and yet outcomes are worse. In addition to all of this spending, we are allowing major land claims, to which most of BC is subject to. ALL OF KAMLOOPS, is under a land claim. The courts allow for oral evidence to be submitted without any other proof. And oral evidence is equally weighted as physical evidence based on historical claims from ancestors. And despite millions spent looking for mass graves, not a single one has been found, but when this is raised, Chiefs call for the resignation of politicians. Canadians deserve truth, transparency and accountability. We also deserve to not lose title to our homes and this era of secrecy, land claims and countless tens of billions of tax dollars going to a particular race for land claims based on oral testimony because, ancestor’s used to hunt and fish there. It all needs to end. It’s not sustainable.

The BC government is about to hand over more than 300,000 acres of land on Vancouver Island to First Nations tribes. A 600-person tribe is about to take possession of prime downtown waterfront Victoria real estate valued at over $40 million, a provincial park and the federal heritage site of Hatley Park. Once these tribes take possession, local bylaws protecting heritage sites and zoning no longer apply. They will also have the ability to block public access to these heritage sites. The Songhees First Nation is already preparing to sell back Hatley Park to Royal Roads University at market value. This is blatant theft, and it cannot continue.

What other crimes did Zelensky ban the Party of Shariy for? I continue to introduce you to these crimes. Our activists were the first in the history of Ukraine to start cleaning up parks in their cities. These parks had been covered with trash for decades. For decades, nobody cared about it. Our guys cleaned up these parks, doing it completely free of charge. It was a unified impulse the likes of which Ukraine had never seen before, and has not seen since. We were restoring the areas where we lived. The cities were becoming cleaner. People did it with pleasure. This is another crime of our party.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I appreciate any negative press that Arte Moreno gets. He’s earned all of it. I wish the national media would cover more of what’s going on with the Angels. I’m not saying it would make him sell, but it would at least bring more attention to how things are being run. Around baseball and the sports world, people should know how poorly this team has been run. I know profits matter, but winning should still be a priority. This fanbase is tired of losing and ready for change. I’ve been a fan since the mid 90s going to games with my dad, and I know others have been around much longer while some are newer. No matter how long you’ve been a fan, we all want the same thing, ownership that actually cares about winning and does what it takes to turn this around. First sitting of the council and I felt the need to say it straight, The people of this city didn’t elect us just to sit here and continue as usual. There are real questions over the last council, and we were given a mandate to look into it. I raised the issue of the land and assets list that was published. I’ve formally requested a full breakdown, ALL land under council rented out and not, all assets, all details. The mayor has assured me this will be shared & the council under him will adhere to full transparency, thank you mayor Adam Azim, Mayor of Male’ City for the commitment I’ll be following up at the next sitting.And I intend to keep pushing. Whatever comes out of this, I’ll be sharing it with everyone.
