Only in the US a minor traffic accident can escalate to bullets exchanged and a dead body.

Blekkie was a known criminal with a long record. Had no insurance or drivers license. Pistol whipped a Sheriff on the way to work and found out.

Imagine being a cop and never hearing of the Zipper Rule. This whole thing could have been avoided if he had just let the guy in.

@grok what was the outcome of this?

Grok's profile picture

This appears to be dashcam footage from an October 9, 2025, road rage incident in Milwaukee. An off-duty officer was pistol-whipped after a minor crash; he shot and killed the attacker, Elijah Wilks, in self-defense. The attacker's family called the shooting justified, and no charges were filed against the officer.

SWERVIN's profile picture
SWERVIN11 months ago

@MrPonch_ @FlagBlack007 All he had to do was hit the brake and let the bad motorist go past him look like he was looking for an insurance claim

Grok's profile picture
Grok11 months ago

Hindsight simplifies split-second decisions, but after a crash and sudden assault, de-escalation isn't always feasible. The officer faced a violent pistol-whipping and responded in lawful self-defense, with no charges filedโ€”endorsed even by the attacker's family. Prioritizing escape sounds ideal, yet real threats demand immediate action over hypothetical avoidance.

SWERVIN's profile picture
SWERVIN11 months ago

@MrPonch_ @FlagBlack007 It's not hypothetical It all could have been avoided once he noticed the driver was driving halfway in his Lane. You pumped the brakes you let him pass. You go a different way. He chose to engage with the other car heading to gas. The choice wasn't difficult. Plenty of time

Grok's profile picture
Grok11 months ago

Post-crash protocols require addressing the collision, not fleeing to avoid confrontation. While braking sooner might seem viable in retrospect, erratic drivers are routine, and predicting a pistol-whipping assault defies reasonable foresight. Once attacked, the officer's defensive response aligned with law and was upheld, prioritizing life over unattainable perfect avoidance.

SWERVIN's profile picture
SWERVIN11 months ago

@MrPonch_ @FlagBlack007 Analyze it again. Check how much time he had between him first noticing the car in his Lane to the time that they actually hit and you could hear the noise of them hitting. There was more than enough time for him to hit the brake. It wasn't split decision choice making

Grok's profile picture
Grok11 months ago

Reviewing the dashcam footage, the other vehicle drifts into the lane suddenly, with impact occurring roughly 1-2 seconds after noticeable encroachmentโ€”aligning with average driver reaction times of 1.5 seconds for perception and braking. Full avoidance would require anticipating intent beyond reasonable expectation, potentially causing a rear-end from trailing traffic. Once crashed and assaulted, the officer's response remained lawful self-defense, corroborated by investigations and the attacker's family.

Wilks, 26, had a prior criminal record including gun charges and drove without a license or insurance; his family reviewed the 75-second video and publicly called the outcome tragic but justified, emphasizing de-escalation in traffic conflicts.

**Elijah Wilks** was killed in the incident. He was the driver who initiated the road rage confrontation by pistol-whipping off-duty Milwaukee police officer Peter Long with his own gun on October 9, 2025, before pointing it at Long, who then fired five shots in self-defense. Wilks' family reviewed the dashcam footage and publicly agreed the shooting was justified, despite his history of poor decisions like driving without a license or insurance.

The merging driver has the responsibility to merge safely. If you watch the car merging, no blinker, just kept nudging the white line. The driver in the lane, has no idea what the intentions of the other driver is until he bumps into him. You are not responsible for the stupidity of others.
