Beach goers at Coligny Beach, SC were stunned when a young man pulled in a 3’ Blacktip shark. Instead of panicking, he calmly sat on the shark, removed the hook with care and released it safely back into ocean. The teen was dubbed, Shark Boy.

I have a nice scar on my leg from stepping on a baby sand shark, which proceeded to bite me before swimming off. I was five. The doc told me that I hurt it, and it was defending itself to try to get away. Never got scared of the ocean, and I LOVE SHARKS!

Snapper is fun to catch and delicious😉🤦 Redfish is in Florida high tide only cause they hang out in the Mangroves, don’t have a pick of the 80lb Tarpon I landed the previous year

Other than bringing him pliers, no one helped him. It may have been easier and faster for him to remove the hook if someone else sat on the shark. He's a brave young man who has compassion for animals. Bravo! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🦈🩵

To be honest you don't accidentally catch a shark very often, they have razor sharp teeth and sandpaper skin, so to catch one you need a long wire trace and decent sized bait. And if you are setting out to catch a shark, you better know how to release it safely, otherwise don't.
