While testing WireView, I noticed something in the Linear app I hadn’t seen anywhere else: it detects if the screen is being captured or mirrored in some way and it automatically shows touch dots. Even supports multitouch! Could be a useful debug thing to add to your own apps

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11 called Low Latency Profile that gives a short boost to your CPU for 1 to 3 seconds when you open apps or menus. Early tests show Microsoft apps like Edge and Outlook open up to 40% faster, while the Start menu and other menus can load up to 70% faster, with CPU use jumping high for a few seconds then dropping right back down. Microsoft says this is normal because Apple does it in macOS and Linux, plus phones use the same type of quick CPU boosts for better speed. The feature is only in early Insider testing now, so it is not out for everyone yet.

What’s more is there are only a handful of people that truly understand what is taking place. What is this device? I got this in ~2007 when I discovered that the sound used had the phenomenon I have researched for decades. It is the Bandai Ben 10 Alien Force Ultimate Omnitrix Light & Sound toy. It seems that the show special effect experts in Japan understood this phenomenon and built it into this particular character. I started using this as a demo in ~2007 and some folks were so taken by it over time it became a bit of a social media interest in about 2012. One group of research scientists demanded that I confess this is some sort of trick. 6 hours later they understood it is not a trick. There are elements in the HumanOS that can completely shift your presentation and replication of reality your consciousness believes. Your Reality is but a screen in your mind playing back what your subconscious believes is important. Your awareness is your superpower. Don’t say I will believe it when I see or hear it, because this may be precisely what you should not do. There is something much more profound. I will be writing a lot more about this phenomenon and brainstorm a way to present it so as to limit the impact to be used for ill will and find the green needle.

Zoox (owned by Amazon) is now testing Robotaxi rides to and from the Las Vegas International Airport. For employees only initially, but will expand to the public in the relatively near future. I'm curious to see what airport rides are like in this vehicle, because when I rode in it last September, I didn't feel the cabin would be good for luggage. There isn't a dedicated storage area like Tesla and Waymo have, which is why I felt the vehicle would be best for passenger only rides, but I guess if the luggage is small it'll be fine.

Been mildly bugging me for a while, but why isn't the 'd' always pronounced in 'Hendry'? Is it optional? I hear people of various dialects pronounce it as 'Henry' relatively frequently and have done for years, but I'm not too sure what the deal is. Genuine question 👍 Jim Davidson is a recent example in his new video talking about Big Break.

The scene of Imran Khan's sister throwing eggs at her while talking to the media,has become the talk of the town in Pakistan. It's a disgusting scene that I don't see any benefit for those who did it, but it's a positive credit to Mr. Imran & his family. But what is questionable is that the egg-throwers were two women wearing masks and were under police protection !!?

Apparently, I saw this video online and I decided to share. What this worker is applying is called bitumen, or what many of us know as bituminous coating. Most people think a wall is a solid, impenetrable block, but in reality, it is more like a sponge. Concrete and blocks have microscopic pores that pull water from the earth through a process we call capillary action. This thick black substance is the shield that stops that water from climbing up into the house. It is not about making the wall look good because this part will be buried under the dirt forever. It is about creating a skin that water cannot breathe through. When do you need to do this? The need for this arises because the soil is a very aggressive environment. Water is not your only enemy.. The ground also contains salts and sulfates that want to eat away at the cement. If this moisture finds its way to the steel bars inside the columns, those bars will start to rust. And when steel rusts, it expands, and that expansion is what cracks the concrete from the inside out. This coating is the only thing standing between your foundation and that kind of slow destruction. Thats is why if you see wet patches at the bottom of your walls inside your house, it usually means someone skipped this step or did it poorly during construction. You can apply this anytime you are building parts of a structure that will stay in contact with the ground. It is common in areas where the water table is high or where the soil stays damp for most of the year. This is a one-shot opportunity. Once you backfill the soil, you can never go back to fix it without a lot of expense and a lot of digging. It is about having the foresight to protect the heart of the building while it is still exposed. Please don’t ignore this if you need to. If you ignore it now to save a bit of money, you will be funding the future decay of your own home. I hope this helps.

Some of my storyboards from the opening of The Wild Robot. I liked the idea of the first shot in the film (after the pull-out from her eye) being Roz in a fetal position for "The Robot Hatches." But the idea got lost as it went through the production pipeline. I ended up using some stock photography and videos for some of the water in this scene. I think because the environment was such a character for us in these opening scenes. The photography seemed to help me to sell the contrast between Roz and the wilderness.
