Tips are why I very rarely go places that try to extort tips. This practice is the new "customary". Just try to leave a tip at a restaurant in Germany. They'll run after you thinking you forgot your change. Tips are not customary there. They pay their staff.

I tip if and only if, I sit down at a restaurant and there is a wait staff.

The problem is in states like Florida, the existence of a tip jar or option allows the employer to pay the staff $3.02 less than minimum wage. I understand the principle, but punishing the staff is not the answer. Contact the employer and let them know you will boycotting them.

I tip on quality of service provided! Not to be provided ahead of the food! Some may say it’s wrong! And only if if requires service support beyond bringing it to the counter for my pickup or takeout! An actual waitress/waiter coming to my table or a driver delivering my food!

How about you don’t frequent establishments that push this bullshit . If it’s a $5.00 cup of coffee or any service that your paying for a luxury and not a necessity don’t participate and they will loose money but the women nailed it why is it the customer’s responsibility?

Fair labour standards act 1938 never got a pass but they choose to exemplify it, can America say illegal… I’m not sure what’s going on… they act like the store pay is paying the business, it doesn’t work like that. I’m not sure where this habit came into play of not registering correctly to pay associates.

My rule: If I leave a tip, then they must bring me my food and bus my table for me. If they do not do those things, then there is no tip.
