Bees build hexagonal honeycombs because it is the most efficient shape for storing maximum honey while using the minimum amount of beeswax, which is energetically costly for them to produce.

Did you know? Stingless bees like the Melipona species in Mexico (e.g., Melipona beecheii, sacred to the Maya) and Brazil don't build those perfect hexagonal honeycombs we know from honeybees. Instead, they construct horizontal brood combs for larvae and store their precious, medicinal honey in separate wax-resin pots—a unique tropical adaptation! 🐝🍯 🎥 meliponariosbk

🐝 The Qur’an and the remarkable world of bees In Surah An-Nahl (16:68–69), Allah describes how He inspired the bee to build its homes, feed on different fruits, and produce a drink from its belly in which there is healing for people. What makes these verses remarkable is the detail: • The Qur’an refers to the bees using feminine grammatical forms, consistent with the fact that worker bees—the bees responsible for foraging and honey production—are female. • Honey is known today to possess antimicrobial and medicinal properties, including uses in wound care and other therapeutic applications. • Another intriguing observation is the chapter number, 16, which corresponds to the chromosome number of male honey bees. Female honey bees have 32 chromosomes (16 pairs). While this numerical correspondence should be viewed as an interesting observation rather than a scientific proof, it is certainly thought-provoking. The Qur’an was revealed more than 1,400 years ago, long before modern genetics and biology. «“Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord made easy for you.” — Qur’an 16:69» 🐝 The more we study Allah’s creation, the more signs we discover. “Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth… are signs for people who reflect.” — Qur’an 3:190 Allahu Akbar. 🤲❤️

🤯 How wild honey is harvested in Indonesia A man climbs a tree about 60 meters high — roughly the height of a 20-story building. At the top, he fights off a swarm of aggressive bees and carefully cuts the honeycombs, trying not to drop them.

Beehives are in the game! 🐝 Your settlers will tend the bees and produce honey over time. Sell it for profit or use it further down the production chain to brew mead, which your settlers will happily consume. #gamedev #indiedev

NEED TO KNOW: There are over 20,000 species of bees across the planet. Around 90% of these bee species are Solitary Bees. 40% of bee species are endangered. There are only 8 honey bee species. Honey bees are not endangered. There are more honey bees on the planet now than at any time in human history. Keeping hives of domesticated honey bees does not ‘save’ endangered native wild bees - it can make things worse for them. #bees #nature

Why is KARNO based on the Stirling engine? Because it uses one of the best thermodynamic cycles. The Stirling engine was invented nearly 200 years ago, and even then, it was recognized as an incredibly efficient way to produce power. The challenge? For 200 years, it’s been extremely difficult to actually build and commercialize. That’s where additive manufacturing changes the equation. By using 3D printing, we’re able to bring this technology to life in a way that wasn’t possible before, unlocking a highly efficient way to produce electricity.

Bees are amazing! The bee lives less than 40 days, visits at least 1,000 flowers and produces less than a teaspoon of honey. For us it is only a teaspoon of honey, but for the bee it is a life. 🐝🌸🥄🍯

The Qur’an’s Surah An-Nahl (The Bees) contains several remarkable references to honey bees that align with modern biological discoveries. In verses 16:68-69, God describes how the bee is inspired to build its homes and produce honey that comes from their bellies, and mentions that this honey contains healing qualities — a fact science has only recognized recently, including honey’s antimicrobial and medicinal properties. The Arabic text also uses feminine verbs and forms when referring to bees, which resonates with the scientific truth that the worker bees responsible for foraging and honey production are female — a detail not known in the 7th century. Additionally, the chapter number itself is 16, the same number as the chromosomes found in male honey bees, while female honey bees have 32 chromosomes (16 pairs) — a precise genetic fact discovered only with modern cytogenetics, and some scholars see this numerical alignment as an intriguing correspondence between the Qur’anic structure and bee biology. These layers of meaning — the biological production of honey, its health benefits, the role of females, and the chromosome count — illustrate how the Qur’anic description touches on aspects of bee science that were unknown to humans at the time of its revelation, yet confirmed by contemporary research.

Ted Cruz on Trump: For the last 10 years, I’ve agreed with virtually every foreign policy decision President Trump has made. And it’s not accidental, because most of those decisions I have been energetically urging him to make. Donald Trump is not an isolationist any way, shape, or form, which is part of why Tucker Carlson lost his mind.

It is impossible to build wide roads in the narrow lanes and heavy traffic of Varanasi, which is why a ropeway is the most practical solution. It is incorrect to compare it with a bullet train because bullet trains are for long distances, whereas a ropeway is for 'last-mile connectivity' within the city. It is a smart way to eliminate congestion with less space and at a lower cost.

“Bees testing to show levels of aluminium higher than is safe for humans - where do you think this is all coming from?” No bees, no food - which is probably part of the objective.

Kevin O'Leary, the main proponent of the proposed Stratos 9 gigawatt data center, says they'll get the power for it from the Ruby Pipeline, which he says is only 17% utilized. The problem is that, in order to obtain the amount of gas needed to produce 9 gigawatts, it would require more than 100% of the full capacity of the pipeline! Tough luck for whoever is currently using the 17% flow? I break down all the math in this video. Full report here: Tucker Carlson

Bees are saving our world and how ! On this #WorldBeeDay, here are some astonishing truths about one of Earth’s most extraordinary life forms: • Bees evolved millions of years ago alongside flowering plants • Royal jelly transforms ordinary larvae into queen bee through epigenetic changes. • Bee antennae detect invisible chemical signals used for communication and navigation. • Bees can see ultraviolet floral patterns invisible to humans. • Their hexagonal honeycombs remain masterpieces of natural engineering. • India is home to remarkable native bees, Apis dorsata, Apis cerana indica, Apis florea and stingless bees. • Nearly 75% of global food crop types depend partly on pollinators like bees. Perhaps bees teach us life’s greatest lesson: the smallest beings often carry the greatest responsibility on their tiny wings ❤️ Data source FAO Forestry photos and videos Credits Shawn Stephen Keystone Foundation #bees
