Every day, thousands of people step onto railway platforms carrying bags, hopes, worries, and destinations. But too often, they leave behind something else: litter. Recently, volunteers from Being Helper Foundation, Bihar's largest youth community, decided to do something about it. Instead of walking past overflowing corners and discarded packets, they stopped to speak with commuters, encouraged them to use dustbins, and led by example by cleaning up juice cups, wrappers, and other waste scattered across the platform. As the azaan echoes through Old Delhi and the sky turns amber, Neha Bharti begins her real work. For the past three Ramadans, she has served free iftar every single day outside Gate No. 3 of Jama Masjid, making sure no one nearby breaks their fast hungry. While others head home, Neha and her family step out with food prepared in their own kitchen, feeding nearly 300 to 350 people daily across all 30 days of Ramadan, welcoming anyone in need regardless of religion. Her mother, father, and brothers cook beside her. Friends help pack and distribute. What began with personal savings slowly grew into a community effort.
