Before today's EU migration vote on 'return hubs', I want to explain two key points: 1. What they are; and 2. Why I will be voting against this proposal.

I will be voting against the policy of ‘return hubs’ in the European Parliament tomorrow, and I urge my fellow Irish MEPs to do the same. Here’s why.

People didn’t vote for The Labour Party’s “change” to be a change for the worse. They really had some faith in us, I still want to deliver on what we promised them. That is why I am voting against this Welfare Bill.

Yesterday I told you that two Democrats voted in the Louisiana House Transportation Committee to name a bridge after Donald Trump. Rep. Tehmi Chassion reached out to explain his vote and has been clear that on Monday he will vote No on naming a bridge after Trump. I wanted you all to know that Mike Echols appears to be using this issue to score political points with Trump — not to secure funding for the project, but to seek an endorsement. I appreciate that Rep. Chassion acknowledged he should have taken more time to fully verify what he was voting on. He heard the concerns of his district and people across the state loud and clear, and he wants you to know he plans to vote No on Monday. To all Democratic Senators and Representatives: I will be watching how you vote — including members of the Legislative Black Caucus — throughout this entire session. I’m not calling to ask about your vote before informing the public. You are elected officials, and you all should be able to explain to the public every vote you take. The stakes are too high. Share if you care 🦾

"What I want elected officials to do is understand and speak to these concerns, because if they do, younger people will be more likely to vote." In this clip, I answer Jon Stewart's The Daily Show question of after voting Joe Biden in 2020, "What has been done for you?"
