When we first started many didn’t believe it could be done. An all American made organic pillow with real American wool. We were told American wool was a dying industry and that we weren’t big enough to meet order minimums for American grown organic cotton. We were told that bootstrapping (literally building everything from scratch without any real funds) wasn’t going to be possible. I thank God for our stubbornness and our belief that you can do whatever you put your mind to. We put our heads down and have busted our asses to get to where we are. We now have our very own wool mill (1960s American made machinery to vertically integrate) and our own property with a sew shop and a space for wool processing. This is just the beginning and you can expect big things from The Woolshire going forward. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support. Happy 3 year birthday, Woolshire.

Bentley today teased the interior of its first ever EV called Torcal. The interior will use Merino wool for the first time in automotive history, as well as wood trim with up to 1,000 layers. "Torcal introduces a new generation of materials, finishes and textures, including Merino wool. Long celebrated in the worlds of fashion and interior design for its softness, warmth and natural elegance, wool has historically lacked the durability required for automotive applications. That challenge has now been overcome. Bentley has partnered with Fox Brothers, the Somerset cloth maker that has been weaving fine wool fabrics since the 1700's. The collaboration resulted in the world's first 100% Merino wool automotive fabric capable of meeting the exacting demands of a luxury vehicle. Torcal also debuts a new Ombre Veneer. Created from sustainably sourced walnut off-cuts and craft (recycled) paper, the veneer is formed from up to 1,000 individually selected layers that are carefully pressed together before being sliced to less than a millimeter in thickness."

Has anyone checked on PETA lately? They are now advocating to HARM animals. The organization is now advocating against using wool for fiber, but sheep NEED to be shorn. Sheering is just like getting a haircut and if we didn’t use the wool, it would go in the trash regardless. This propaganda comes as people move towards natural fibers - a move that is hurting the polyester industry. So who is really paying PETA?

This is something not a lot of folks know. Static from running wool batting can build up to dangerously high levels. Instead of spraying an anti-static agent (chemical) on the wool which is done commonly in the wool industry, we have an anti-static bar that creates an ionized field of positive and negative ions, which in effect neutralize the static charge when the wool passes over it. It is also grounded 8 feet deep in the earth.
